Before i cancel it..

I vape probably 2-3ml a day (14mg) with an evod glass/iTaste VV v3.. at around 9-11 watts.

I have an istick 30w and a melo in the mail. If i start vaping 20+ watts, i read to drop my nic.

I kinda do DIY.. I buy 120ml bottles of 50/50 18mg nic from ecigexpress and add a 30ml of flavor west flavor. 150ml for $21 shipped (to Canada). Works out to ...

Feel like that's going to be to low nic/pg and have no TH at all.

That seems like a big drop in nic. I haven't used the melo before but its still a tank system. I have a kayfun, which is basically the same style of tank and I didn't need to drop my nic level that much.

I personally would shoot for about 8-10mg. When I was lowering my nic I went one level at a time 24 to 18 to 12 to 9 to 6mg. I never noticed the change.

Now if I am using a RDA I vape 3mg.

Also, 20/80vg is pretty thick to use in a tank system. Maybe someone with a Melo can chime in. I usually go with 50/50 in my kayfun

Melo is a bit different then an evod glass. It's basically like a subtank. Cheaper. Everywhere i read people talk about going half or a quarter of your nic when going to a sub-ohm tank. :/

Opps, I'm thinking of the Lemo, not the melo. So a 20/80vg should work fine.

I would still say drop by half, which would be 7mg. Your going to be about 5mg, so its only 2mg off.

Try it at 5mg and if its too low add some of the 18mg if you have any left.

You have the option of high wattage or the wattage you need with the istick.

I don't adjust my mg. based on my wattage.

I dropped from 18mg to 6mg when I went from protanks/Nautilus mini/Spinner II to Lemo/Smok M80. It's been working for me.

I'd say a drop to <3mg might be a bit much. But you do need a drop in nic.

Does 80 vg and 5 mg nic have a TH at say.. 20-25 watts (in a sub ohm tank)?

That is going to be very subjective to the individual person.I started at 24mg in a protank,dropped to 18mg in a protank,and now almost a year later i am still at 18mg but now i am using rba's such as the orchid,subtank,and a few others.I did not need to drop my level at all,sort of falls under the same saying as flavors where taste is subjective,same with nic levels,whether to drop or not is also very much a personal level to the individual person.

Everyone on reddit told me to drop nic.. so i ordered it. All the vids i watch seem to be people using high VG and low nic. Seemed like the right choice. Now im not so sure.

It may be fine for you,only way to know is to try it.I probably could drop down some,but i didn't feel any bad effects staying at the same level,so that's what i have stuck with.It may affect others differently though,as i have heard alot of people say they dropped down when going to better equipment.For me,the drop from 24 to 18 was a horrible experience haha,so i haven't attempted another drop,so i dont go through that again.

The worst that can happen is that you find the lower level is not enough for you,and to solve that,you could just vape more often until you get comfortable with the lower level.

If you vape 14mg at 10 watts, you're probably going to want 7mg at 20 watts.
But until you get your melo, and actually make the coil, you don't know what wattage you're going to be running your coil at.

I would try what you got first then go down from there. personally i cut mine in half with more air flow the lemo by the way . i diy also

It's not that I'm misunderstanding the thought of cutting the mg. due to more intake. The ideal of enjoying the addition kick of the fix seems more inviting.

Going from a PG heavy mix to one that's almost entirely VG is going to greatly reduce throat hit, especially since you lowered nicotine content by a lot. Most people use very VG heavy mixes because of the smoothness and vapor production.

Just try it out, you might like it better. I used to be a mouth to lung hitter that favored PG heavy blends, then I got a Subtank Mini. Now it's nothing but lung hits and smooth tasty vapor.

Yea, i was told to do it by many people because they said the throat hit would be unbearable at 20-25w with 14mg. I don't require a devastating throat hit. Just need to feel like im inhaling something.
