I got bored last night and decided that I wanted to hang out with the cool kids and get an rda.

Long story short I grabbed an EHpro TOBH. I swear last night when I was researching what people suggested for a decent rda this was the clear winner. Now today I am seeing not so favorable reviews and lots of comments on how it is not easy to build. I have yet to mess with coil building short of a few micros for evods out of boredom.

Do I toss this in the drawer until I have more under my belt or struggle though, use some common sense, and maybe read just a "little" more?

^^ This. Every device and every RBA will have its own learning curve related to its own specific features and construction, but the basic principles tend to stay more or less the same across multiple products. Take the time to learn it, make mistakes and try new things with it. That will give you some learning experiences under your belt that will both lead to success with that product and give you a good foundation for any others you may try in the future.

Just my :2c: :) A lot of hardware can be intimidating until you've figured out how to use and get the most out of it. Just the nature of the beast.

Absolutely fantastic advice from an ECF Veteran! I have yet to try that particular mod myself, but when it comes to building there are a plethora of youtube videos as well as plenty of information provided here. Just be patient and try your hand at it until you get it right. After you've built a few of your own, you'll be surprised at just how easy it is and BY FAR worth the experience. You will get no better vape than one you can customize to your own liking. Just remember, these forums are full of people ready to help you out - so ask away if you need it!

Speaking of YouTube videos, (again keeping in mind that I do not own this mod) this video looks very informative and should be more than enough to get you well on your way to building with your new mod:

P.S. I believe the TOBH is considered an RDA, not RBA. I could be wrong though. Either way, enjoy the fantastic vape this mod has to offer! :vapor:

I've been waiting very patiently for my Tobh to come in, I don't really thing one atty is all that much different than the next. Most of them are pretty straight forward devices and are set up the same. Once you have an atty set up your not gonna mess with it very often unless you enjoy sitting around messing with coils. Yes I like to experiment but theres only so much you can do, you wrap your coils jam them into the posts and crank them down lol. Twist and pull and squeeze them all you want, but when its all said and done, the coil can last for a very long time and no real work has to be done to them very often. Your cotton or silica or whatever will be changed way more often than your coil will.

Well it sounds like I should do less reading and second guessing, and more doing...well maybe just less second guessing. I am still amazed at the amount of info on this forum in particular and what is out there. To think 10 months ago I thought a BLU was my best option for better health.
Blu probably was better for your health since your battery would have died after 20 puffs lol

Looks pretty straightforward to me; an rda is such a simple device.

Lol! You're one of the rare ones here! We're all past smoking addicts so naturally I think a lot of us have addicting personalities. Lucky u!

I am not a rare one... Just a sarcastic one Just ordered another rda and a pile of kanthal. Generally I vape 10ml a week. Some how I've done a little more than that in 3 days from rewicking and coil builds. Some have been successful.... Most have left more than a little to be desired.

Whoever said the trash can is your friend couldn't have said it better.

I will say the flavor is, well for lack a better word, amazing.

I got my TOBH clone yesterday, so far I love it. My only problem now is that I don't have enough batteries to run my VTR with a tank and the Nemesis with the TOBH all day, guess I need to pick and choose, heh.

What kind of batteries do you run?
Ive had cheapies that would only last two to four hours before so i know the feeling...
But with an education through forums and my own trial and error i've found that IMR's are certainly the way to go with mech's and apv's
Have a sony 2900mAh and several Efest 2600mAh and it seems they both perform very well even with sub ohm builds.
If im running a 1-1.2 ohm coil set i can easily get two days out of my mech with a kick installed.

Nah, just order a case of batteries. Easy solution. lol

I've accumulated enough batteries at this point that I can go a week without charging anything and still be safe. It wasn't by design though. Every time I needed to juice an order by 10-20 bucks for free shipping I would just add batteries. Now I can power an air conditioner and plasma TV if the power goes out.

Great post, and you nailedl it.
You can get a great vape from most any RDA, or .... you can make it produce the worse vape you could ever imagine. The trick is to learn how to make it do both. That way you will know what not to do as well as what to do.
So play with your new RDA, try lots of different ways to set it up, and NEVER think that your first build is good enough. (even if it is)
