Did I make a wise choice?

Hi Everyone.

I'm completely new to esmoking. Been smoking analogs, still am, for about 20 years. I need to quit and just found out about E-cigs yesterday.

I just purchased the DSE-901 starter kit from Ecigmall dot com. Did I find a good seller? Also I smoke Marlboro Lights, is there a e-liquid that tastes similar? I've been looking around, but prices are all over and it's hard to tell who has the best e-liquid. I'll pick up on the lingo soon. And I look forward trying all the different flavors.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Most if not all Suppliers here are good. As far as the flavor, you will never find one that replicates and analog, but that is easy to adjust to and you might well find that you like many of the other flavors--I never thought I would be vaping Vanilla Ice Cream--but it taste great--So good choice with the 901 and give those analogs the Boot!! Happy Vaping--Sun

Hello Apatel, I'm new here too. I'm still waiting for my order, but I ordered the Intellicig Evo. From what I've read they are both good choices. I don't have any experience, just sharing what I've read. I still plan to get the DSE-901 in the future.

I'm a Marlboro Light smoker myself, and plan on trying different liquid until I find one I like. Johnson Creek has a variety pack for $20 and it comes with 10 flavors, I think.

Good luck,

MT

Well don't feel bad. I also got suckered into a "smoking everywhere" kit. I first saw this thing at a mall and thought what a great idea for cutting out the cigs. Didn't do my homework and bought one, but I paid a lot more than you did. Well after only a few weeks I had already gone through about 20 carts and also had to replace a battery. Not too long ago I went back to them with a bad atomizer and they replaced it, but they realy weren't very friendly about it. Luckily I got along with the guy that sold it to me and he gave me about 5 packs of carts which helped out with the cost of carts. Since then I bought e-juice from Johnson Creek and have been refilling my used carts, makes it a lot cheaper and they are a great company to do business with. Been asking around and plan to buy a pen type real soon. My advice to you, ask questions from the people in the forums, check suppliers, and do your homework.

Congratulations! The DSE901 is a great e-cig at a nice price.

I have a Janty Dura, a DSE901 from PureSmoker, and a Janty Kissbox. I never thought I'd have more than one e-cig, and here I am with three . . . with a fourth on order (a Pilot from PureSmoker). They all vape a big differently, and it's nice to be able to switch it up a bit.

I want to echo Robw's suggestion that you purchase an extra atomizer. The technology is pretty fickle, and atomizers have been known to crap out unexpectedly. There is nothing worse than starting in with e-cigs, having your atomizer die, and then sitting there trying to figure out how you're going to survive until your new atomizer arrives.

I'm laughing about Robw's comment about analogs tasting like .... My Dura came with a sample cartridge of "Mild Seven," and when I tried it, it tasted like dirty feet. My husband said that it smelled pretty much like what my tobacco cigarettes smelled like. Hmmmmmm . . . well, whether it's ... or feet, it sure ain't a nice aroma or taste.

My personal favorite right now is Johnson Creek's peach cobbler. I was over at my brother's this evening, and he was practically sitting on my lap trying to get a whiff of the vapor. Yeah, it tastes/smells that good. :)

I also have the 901 (actual 4 kits for myself another 3 here in the family) and I just got the Cherry from litecisuas.com and LOVE it. I am going to be trying all of the flavors as I can afford them until I find my ultimate favorite.

I am not 100% off analogs now, but went from 1 1/2 pack a day of Camel Lights to having 1 pack last me about 3-4 days.

I'm on my 8th day of vaping. I've only lit one analog since my 901 arrived and that was on day 6. Everyone is different, but I've decided the reason I went for the analog is because I got a sample pack and spent the day trying the different flavors of a sample kit. Some were quite nice and I'm certain I'll be revisiting them in the future.....but for me....I think I need to stick with the tobacco type flavors for now, since it's so soon since I gave up the analogs. After heading back to a tobacco flav, the cravings for an analog went away. I've ordered a ton of e-liquid....2 sample kits, menthol in 2 strenghts, camel, marlboro, and awaiting some stronger tobacco flavors in 0mg nic. Right now (it changes everyday) my plan is to use some 0 nic tobacco flavors throughout the day and drip a few drops of 11mg in between to keep from having the nic issues until I'm accustomed to my new habit.....then I'm going to try to have some fun with the different flavors. Some may be able to go straight to fun flavors right away, but for me, that didn't work so well.

Monie--you are on the right track--it took me many flavors till I found one for everyday. I do switch around, but the one I finally settled on became a regular. So you will find yours and all the e-liquid you bought will come in handy if you ever run low--Happy Vaping--Sun:)

TYVM Sun! :) This seems too easy to be true. I'm pointing out the issues I've found trying to be helpful.....but actually, they are just very minor issues....I just hope they can help someone else with an easier transition. :)

Monie,
You are welcome–I know what it was like spending money on e-liquids that I did not particularly care for when I switched to e-cigs. At first I was a little upset at myself for buying them as I have 14 bottles of e-liquid in a box that I do not use. After thinking about it for a while, I said to myself this is a good thing as I never have to worry about running out as none of them are really that bad that I could not use if I ran out of my "brand". Happy Vaping–Sun

The way I look at it, it's costing me a bit over $2k pr/yr with analogs....So if I spend that (or even a bit more) to kick that habit, I'm not going to beat myself up about it. ;) I didn't smoke menthol, but I'm finding that if I add a drop in, it helps me feel the hit. I'm happy to experiment as long as it doesn't get too far out of my budget....and so far, I'm no where near that annual cost and I'm so pleased with the results!
