Here's a picture of all the pieces.

Thank you so much! Looks like my SS tank rings are too big or tall. However, I did buy a long plastic tank from my vape shop and everything fits properly with the right chimney (short). I might end up buying new tank runs from russianrba.com because I hate the look of one long plastic tank. Really appreciate the help.

The problem with the guy I bought it from, I wouldn't really call him a "friend" and he's the type to not realt care. He has kayfuns and Russians so I think he got everything mixed up. He's "special" let's leave it at that. Prob shouldn't have bought this from him, but it was a good price and spontaneous purchase, but it has become a headache.

Good thing is I know have a working russian/kayfun/clone/hybrid/!!!

If the clearance is but a tiny bit between chimney and top cap, try adding an o-ring between the two chimney pieces to give it a bit of extra height.

I did try to ghetto rig something up, extra o ring, not unscrewing the chimney all the way, the gap is just enough to where I have the wrong part, or modified part, or whatever that I just slightly too short. It lies somewhere in the chimney or the tank. Either the chimney is 1-2mm too short or the tank rings are 1-2mm too long. Really a bummer because I absolutely love the look and finish of the russian, now stuck with some off color blue long plastic tank, oh well it work. I know what Santa is bringin me for Christmas though :)

Each tank section is 1/2 an inch tall.

Thank you so much. Here lies my problem then. I don't have the original tank. My tank rings are a little more than half an inch, about 1/2 inch and and 1/8 (whatever you call that!). So if I get the authentic tank rings, te tank would be shorter, chimney would appear to be slightly taller, and the top would sit lower and create the deal that I need. I think that makes sense.

The deck looks like a possible russian but that chimney is way to tall perhaps for an aftermarket tank.
What is that weird looking thing in the top cap, never seen that before?

I don't think that chimney is way too tall at all! I think the damn chimney I got on my kayfun and in most of the pictures I see is way to damn short!!! So kudos to the op for getting one with a chimney that will seal properly at the top and not barely touch the top.

Thats what I can't figure out. I can't find this piece ANYWHERE ot even an explanation/duplication for that matter. It's some kind of conical shaped metal piece that screws into the bottom of the top cap, and the chimney goes through that up through the top cap and right into the bottom of the drip tip.

The deck does seem legit to me. The tank, 2 metal cyclinders and plastic piece are all fine, but that chimney though? and the weird top cap? I have no idea, I'm pretty sure this is one of a kind. Maybe my friend got some kind of aftermarket conversion kit with a bigger tank and new top cap.

Either way I am going to get a new stock chimney and some kind of new top cap I guess.

But the thing is, it works. And it works really well. I have had no complaints until I took it a part a few times and rebuilt, did some research, but I'd still like to figure it out.

Some kayfun and russian kits intelligently have been shipped with an adapter so you can use your own regular 510 drip tips instead of being restricted to the one shipped.

That is weird, I wonder if the longer chimney concentrates the flavor more?

The long chimney can go right up and through the seal.

It's important if you use the topfill method of filling. It makes a better seal; if the chimney is only just touching, you can end up dumping juice when you invert the tank during the topfill method.

Yep that was happening to me too; I was working my kayfun by unscrewing the 2 chimney and fog chamber pieces to give an extra 2mm or so so that the chimney top would punch through the rubber seal at the top;

eventually though things seemed to work so far without that; like as if I wasn't screwing in the outer tank parts all the way maybe.
