Ok, so after tons of research, I ordered my first mod, but now I am second guessing if I ordered everything correctly. Heres the links to what I ordered.
1. Will this set up work?
2. MOST IMPORTANT: is this set up SAFE? Are those AW batteries the "safe" ones everyone talks about? is the charger good? Thanks guys

mod: Sigelei Zmax V5
Batteries: AW IMR 18650 2000mAh
Charger: Xtar WP2 II - Battery Chargers

Thanks guys, and again, my main concern is how SAFE (relatively speaking of course) is this set up?

Everything looks good. :thumb:

  • The ZMax is a regulated mod which has built-in protection circuitry against short circuits, battery over-discharge, thermal protection, automatic timer cutoff, reverse battery protection, etc.
  • The AW IMR's are a safe-chemistry, high-drain battery best suited for a regulated mod.
  • The Xtar WP2 II is a reputable and quality charger for mod batteries.

additional safety tips, after charging your battery it's recommend to let it "rest" a bit before using it. how long, not sure but that's why i have 2 (now actually 4) 18650 batteries so i don't have to be in any rush. DON"T leave a charging battery unattended (you don't have to watch it like a hawk but leaving it charging overnight in a pile of newspapers near paint thinner is a bad idea). also don't carry loose battery around in pocket w/ keys, change, metal etc.

otherwise your setup looks fine.

With the zmax, since it has built in protection, you could easily use different batteries with higher mah rating for longer battey life. Those AW IMR you got are good, but they're on the lower end of battery life. I actually use those AW IMR for my mechanical mods with no protection.. Just an FYI
