With Cyber Monday coming up I've decided to break down and purchase my first Mod. I'm going with the Volcano Lava Tube v2.5 and I'll be buying the batteries and charger separate. I'm going with the AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh batteries and a Xtar WP2 II - Updated Version charger. I've been using the Vision Spinner batteries up to this point and I have a couple of Kanger Mini ProTank II tanks, a couple of Kanger Evods and a couple of Smok Tech Aro tanks. All of these are 510 like the Lava Tube but they're also all female threaded as is the Lava Tube. Obviously I need to get an adapter so my first question is, do I need to get a "510 to eGo" adapter if I want to use the tanks that I already have and if not, which one do I need? I'm pretty sure that I need the 510 to eGo adapter but I want to make sure its not the "510 to 510" adapter that I actually need. Last but not least, until I get the feel of the new Mod, what would be a safe Wattage and Volt setting to start out with? I know this depends on a few different factors but I'm just trying to get a good base line to start out with and then I'll figure it out from there. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi and congrats on the new purchase! It sounds like you have sorted out all of the major factors and are making a well thought purchase :)

510 to Ego is the correct adapter to use on a lavatube for all of the ego threaded devices (like Evods) I have a V1.5 for my OH and one of these adapters permanently lives on it. LOL.

As far as watts and volts - personally I prefer watts, but this will apply either way - start all the way low and go up one setting at a time until you find the spot you prefer. I tend to prefer vaping rather low. I stay about 6.5-7.5 volts. With a few liquids I do go as low as 5.5 or higher than 7.5 but for the most part the sweet spot for me is 6.5 or 7 watts. You will not hurt any toppers starting from the low end and you will definitely get a burnt taste before you exceed the capability on the high end.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
