Did Mixing Get Easier?

Good Evening all

Just a quick query is all for me tonight. I never started DIY-ing because I didn't fancy have a bottle of pure nicotine hanging around the house with a toddler in but with the whole shortfill+nic shot idea, did DIY just get an awful lot safer and easier?

I'm thinking about experimenting soon

lock up your 100mg nicotine in a safe (or medical supply fridge/freezer that comes with a lock)? or buy nic base that is closer to your desired nic level instead of 100mg so it just get's diluted slightly by the flavorings you add?

I buy 48 mg nicotine base in PG. At 48 mg they can just ship it USPS. levels above that are considered hazmat in many localities and have to have special shipping. It also allows me to avoid buying PG since between flavors in PG and Nic in PG I get very close to the 80vg/20pg I want with only having VG on hand. 5 ml of the base per 60 ml juice gives me the 4 mg I want, a nice easy measure.

Also when I first started vaping, I vaped 48 mg nic so I don't worry about having to be too careful handling it.

IMO, No.
It got more expensive and easier to tax.


TPD limits on the amount and strength of eliquids/nicotine base are turning EVERYONE into a DIYer.

Remember to take notes and label your creations.

A Locking File Cabinet is a Nice thing to have if you have Small Hands around that like to Explore Things.

No, you still need some concentrated supply of nic. If you can't trust yourself to secure it, best to keep what your doing. Concentrated nic in the house can be deadly if precautions are not observed.

maybe you should have mentioned that in the OP, or at least have it in your profile? There are UK vapers on the forums but the majority here are likely from the states. I am not up on TPD so I will leave the thread

Specific/accurate titles, and detailed OPs, help you and help the ECF community. It not only gets you more useful information, but it is also considerate. In that it saves people, who are trying to help you, from posting useless/unwanted replies.

As for what nicotine is available in the UK; a 15 second Google search turned up this. I imagine a similar search on UK TPD and e-liquid DIY regulations might also be informative.

Thanks, that link did indeed turn something up for me to look into. As I had said, I thought the TPD banned the sale of nicotine above the specified amount.
