Hey guys,

I'm having problems with my new DID. After watching a good few vids on Utube and reading several threads on here I thought I was on it. I was wrong.

The problem is that the coil glows orange from the centre post to the wick after about a second. The rest of the coil seems fine and there are masses of vapour. However if I hold the go button down for more than a second or so it goes south and stops working as the coil melts.
I have done four builds all like this one

Any pointers?

Cheers.

Thank you fed71,

I had noticed on all the video's I watched that they stopped after wrapping the coil and then started again. They didn't show the bit you did. I did think it was a bit strange to do that.

Basically you have to help the coil to go orange all the way to the bottom by manipulating it?

Hope Google Translate bridges the language barrier.

Thanks from the UK.

Looking at the picture the first thing i would suspect is the very uneven tension i see throughout the wraps, they have to be pretty even and some look loose while others are overly tight and digging into the wick and this will frustrate you to no end.

Cheers mate. I was watching fed71's vid as you posted. Seems to me you are both right.

Back to the drawing board. I am however heartened by the amounts of vapour it produces. Man that's promising.

Such actions may help
- The upper part of the wire to put "counterclockwise" under the top clamp. This area should be as short as possible.
- Set the minimum current to start (if used VV).
- Using a screwdriver to move the turns of the spiral to achieve uniform illumination of all the turns.
- To increase the value of volts and monitor the status of the coil.

look into the drillbit method for wrapping a coil and it will help a lot since i switched tio this method i get coils down in just a minute or two, slide the wick in and wham vaping.

I have seen that method mate. Didn't have a bit that small. My hole is only 1mm. (Lets keep the smutty out of this. Lol) Gonna get a 3/32" tomorrow.

Good man;)

Well I tried again today (without a drill bit) and got a little further. I got two coils orange then it was too much for the poor little wire. No idea what thickness it is. I also had to stop because the room was full of vapour due to the fact I had left the juice in the tank. Man that thing rocks. Can't wait till I get it sorted. Drill bit tomorrow methinks.

:toast:

Are e-cigs banned in Russia? Would like to here it from a Russian. How does it work there?

Cheers for your help fed.

Banned smoking in public places. And banned the sale of "imitation cigarettes" (I think it's about Pons) :)
In total almost the same as in other countries. But I hope that my GGTS and my ProVari no one would call "imitation cigarettes". :)

I'd say so. I had heard that e-cigs were banned there and selling anything e-cig related was banned?

Ban tobacco advertising, sale of nicotine and devices "like a cigarette." But everything you need can now be bought online - shops. The main supplier of the goods is China. But no problem for shopping in America, Britain and Greece, etc. Except that the delivery time may be 30-50 days.
