Hi,
So very glad to have discovered your community here.
I heard some news about an electronic cigarette years ago! But, I wasn't aware of the fact that it is a fully developed market until around a week ago.
Since then, I've become very aware of just how much there is to learn about PVs. This forum is a great find for me! :)

I've come to realize that my not yet delivered first purchase was most likely a mistake. I ordered the Knight Stick. Got a bad feeling from the tactics on their site, but went ahead and placed the 'trial' order kit anyway. :(

I've been smoking More Reds - 120 mm brown paper cigarettes for 35 years, and think this whole vaping thing might just be my cup of tea ... if I can get started right. There's quite a bit to learn.

I'm considering the Janty Kissbox now. But, will continue to research before making a final decision. I should receive the Knight Stick within days and give it a try. But, I haven't seen it even mentioned among the options on this forum. That's why I am guessing it was a mistake.

Anyway, thanks for being here. I've got a lot of reading to do.

Seems like all trial orders we hear about around here are bad deals, they keep sending and charging you for stuff you don't want..

Could be, maybe not. E-cigs with names are usually re branded generic models so no telling what it is.

Oh and welcome!

I have been smoking a pack a day for more than 35 years.

I have also quit smoking during that time period several times so I know what to expect when quitting tobacco.

I have an addictive personality and always went back to smoking.

When I started vaping I just didn't smoke anymore (eCigs are a perfect alternative for me).

But, this forum is not about how fast you stop smoking tobacco, it is a support forum for people wanting a safe alternative to smoking.

Nobody here will judge you.

Make the transition at your own pace.

We are all rooting for you and will be here for you.

Just re-affirming what wireguy said NCC. Over the past month there have been several reports of trial offers, Smoke Assassin comes to mind:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...uckered-smoking-everywhere-19.html#post881584
as an example.

Is this the firm? Knight Sticks - Electronic Cigarette, for a Healthier Lifestyle

I looked at the terms of their trial offer:

CAREFULLY READ AND AGREE TO THE TERMS BELOW BEFORE ORDERING:

When you order the FREE Trial of Knight Sticks your credit card will be charged only $9.95 shipping and handling for a 10 day Trial Supply of Knight Sticks (which includes one e-cigarette including lithium battery, two nicotine cartridge refills and a USB charger). You will have 10 days from the day your order is shipped to try Knight Sticks. At the end of your 10 day trial period you will be charged $99.90 for the e-cigarette package you received. If you find Knight Sticks is not right for you, simply cancel within 10 days of your original shipment date and you will not be charged. Every 30 days thereafter you will be sent a month supply of 15 Knight Sticks refill cartridges and your credit card on file will be billed $49.90 plus $9.95 shipping and handling.

You may cancel your membership at any time by simply contacting customer service. Toll Free Customer Service phone: XXXXXXX
Customer Service representatives are available MON-FRI 7AM-7PM CST.

This might be a reputable firm. But...

I am not a lawyer, I'm just an old fart who would never, ever enter into an agreement like this for any product or service. This comes from more than a few years of experience and seeing more than a few folks get burned.

That said, Hi!

Do what ya will with the Knight Stick, (don't open, send it back, don't open, send it back) and in the mean time give these a read:

The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs (Parts 1 through 6)

Buying and Using an Electronic Cigarette: A Primer

As far as relatively safe suppliers:
ECF Approved Suppliers - E-Cigarette Forum

Whichever vendor you consider, do a simple search of their name and you can find feedback regarding them.

Luck!

Welcome to the forums. Ask all the question you need there are many, many helpful people that are more than willing to answer them. As to tje Knight Sticks...after reading their little marketing ad I'd cancel. Get yourself a decent personal vaporizer like a 510, Janty, kr8 or one of the many other reputable, and well made and supported ones.

Good luck on your quest to stop smoking. It can be done. Many of us are free of regular cigarettes and it was made possible with these devices.

Thanks for the welcome and for the advice to return the Knight Sticks unopened. That's exactly what I plan to do. I didn't like their tactics to begin with, but was ignorant of ALL the other options out there and was eager. I'm still eager, but really glad to have this forum to help me make informed purchase decisions.

Reading, reading, reading. Some of the posts are strewn with terms unfamiliar to me. Lots to learn. I'm going to put off my second purchase until I learn more.

Thanks!

Well, I spent about six hours researching last night, into the wee hours of this morning.

I just couldn't stand putting it off any longer and placed several orders, utilizing some of what the research showed up. I hope I don't regret my haste. I ordered ...

Janty Kissbox Classic Extended Set
and
Vapor King-Ultimate Ultimatum Automatic Kit
and some extra juice and batteries. Total bill, including expedited shipping on the Janty came to a hair over $300. The Janty should be delivered tomorrow. :)

Does anyone have any opinion on my selections? I hope I didn't screw up again.

Hi, I'm a newb. I got my "free trial" Knightstick on Sat. What tics me off is that you don't see the fine print telling you that your cred-card will be automatically billed $99.95 in 10 days untill AFTER you have placed the order. I've been calling the customer service number all morning --no answer. I'll post back up if I ever get satisfaction. Great forum, by the way.

After attempting to get through for about an hour ...
I managed to talk to a CSR. After she pulled up my account and asked how she could help me, I just said I want to cancel. She wanted a reason for the cancellation (I didn't expect that). First, I said I had an issue with the whole subscription thing. Then, I told her I have a Janty Kissbox and a Vapor King in my pocket. She replied, "Nice".

I then asked her to verify that I would not be billed $99, and wouldn't be put on the recycling billing for the carts ... which she did. And, I asked her if I needed to send back the package. The answer was no.
