DAY 1: I am writing this the following morning. I should have put some things down last night. I have been smoking for years (will put that "smoking history" in my profile pretty soon!). I got my equipment mid-day at a local vape store. I bought what I think was some of the main stuff recommended here to start up. I know, from having other hobbies, I will trade up. That just happens, but I don't want to start at the very "stupid me" bottom ($$ economic reason).
So the guy showed me how to load it, I got 2 "units" (sorry not got good lingo yet) with each a battery and the other part that holds the juice etc. One is pink and one is purple, not that I was all excited on the colors, just wanted 2 different colors.
On the drive home (I am about 30 minutes "out of town") I thought of opening the box and vaping but was kind of nervous that I wanted to "explore it at home" before trying it driving. So I lit up an Analog. Or 2. I was wishing I'd been able to go buy the stuff early in the day because I get up early and would have wanted to "start" first thing in the a.m. and see how it substituted for the analogs. Nevertheless. LOL
Things I discovered: you don't Vape in the same manner you smoke. The salesman had touched on this thank god. So much of the day I was learning some of what will become my "style". Then it came to times in the day when I needed to take the dog out, grab an analog of course--my habit. Later in the day I relaxed more about it and took the dog and my new...machine? PV? something (I'll learn the lingo eventually). But i was just trying to "get nicotine" as well as enjoy it, and also watch the dog so it wasn't "working".
Later in the day, I was writing on the computer or watching TV or both and thought "I need a cig" and got up and got all essed up in my mind, should I go in the back room (mud room "converted" for smoking in super hot weather or super cold but a window is perpetually open), should I go out on the front porch? Should I just Vape here? I ended up sometimes going in the back or out front and vaping. Sometimes vaping in the house. I realized I need to figure out my habits, I had to do a lot of "thinking" about do I really want a cig? Am I just restless? (I found this a lot, that I just needed a mental "break" or maybe a physical one--I didn't "need" a smoke. GREAT REVELATION!! --for me anyway)
I also was quite happy that when I fell asleep, I could keep the machine/thing/PV? (damn will have to keep the Glossary handy, lol!) right by my bed and maybe if i woke up (lately haven't been sleeping thru) I could Vape RIGHT IN THE HOUSE! (no smoking allowed in house--too stinky). I didn't do it. But I had the option.
Some positives, some negatives.
START of DAY 2: I am not real sure today that I am getting "enough nicotine" I mean how do you know they put 18, or whatever in there? Maybe my style isn't working? Have started writing down my analogs (times etc) and wondering about going back and getting a juice with like 36 or something, it is fun, I like the smells (much nicer) and I'm starting to "play with the smoke" but I feel a little "anxious" as if I am not getting eunf nicotine.
So if you just started also, tell me your Day 1 or Day 2! I would love to hear it.
