I see the manual says to lower your nic.

My first day with my Russian i got an awful headache. But Im not sure if thats due to some leftover machine oils or something that i didnt quite clear out, or issues with my first build and oxidizing the wire correctly, or the nic level... who knows.

I did lower my nic from 12mg to 6mg after that, no headaches. But I also gave it a REAL good cleaning since then. So I may try going back up to 12mg... just for a little more throat hit.

Im curious-- what have you long time users of the KFL style seen? Have you reduced your nic?

I didn't lower mine when I started with Kayfuns, because I had already lowered mine some, back when I began using genisis types. I used to use 18. Nowadays I make my DIY liquids at 10mg.

I had the same experience. I think its because the juice consumption. My genesis atty's and other RBA's doubled how much physical juice that I use. Went from 18 to 8. I like a hot vape.

When I switched from cartos and clearos to rebuildables, I had to drop my nic from 12 to 6mg.
I ran gennys and drippers for quite a while before I tried a kayfun style atty.
When I started running kayfuns, I didn't need to drop down my nic level.
I find it delivers me the same or similar nic as any of my other rebuildables do.
What were you using before your kayfun?

If you were running rebuildables before your kayfun, I'm thinking you got a headache from lack of a thorough cleaning.
Those things are slathered with machine oil when they hit your doorstep.
Mine was so bad, the airtube and airhole were FILLED with oil.
I'm sure even just a little bit would make you sick feeling.

The way I clean mine is to break them down. All the way. Every single screw and oring comes off. Everything.
Clean orings in soapy water.
Put all metal parts into a cup filled with 99% alcohol.
Let it sit for a while. Agitate the cup a bit. Let it sit more. Maybe 20-60 minutes.
Scrub alcohol soaked parts with an old toothbrush and rinse in HOT tap water.
Blow through airholes etc.
Then, some strong dish soap goes onto the toothbrush andf scrub each and every part in hot tap water.
Reapply the soap to the toothbrush for each and every piece.
As the hot tap water is running, I have it going into a large bowl. I drop the parts into that bowl and I move onto the next part.
When I'm done, I pull each part out 1 at a time and rinse once more. Then lay on a paper towel.
Blow everything out and assemble.
Never have I had a machine oil taste since I started doing this.

Oh yea, screw all screws as well. But I don't drop those into the bowl, they may get lost.

People have good luck with boiling, I just don't fool with it.
I don't want to get maching oils in my cookware.

Maybe I should get a cheap pot and dedicate to vaping gear. =)

Yea, you'd probably wanna drop your nic level then.
I have pretty much dropped from 12 to 6mg.
If I buy juice, I usually will buy a bottle of 6mg and a bottle of 12mg.
That way I can mix the 2 together and get 9mg if I want.
I diy most of my own juice these days. I do 6mg for chain vaping, and 8 or 9mg for taking to work, since I want a quick nic fix sometimes and don't have time to sit there and vape 6mg until I am satisfied.
