Did I quit? Two words: Hell Yes! Lit my last cig 2.5 years ago on a new year's sunrise. Had a rocky quitting time and a few relapses but the back then new eGo 1000mAh passthrough battery saved me. Been clean from analogs, alcohol, drugs because of that. Was not easy. Wish the best of luck to those who just started the transition or are thinking of quitting!

Yup. . .I'ma quitter. Smoked tobacco for alittle over 52 years. 2.5 PAD when I started vaping three years ago. Did "Double Duty" for about 6 months, then became concerned I might be vaping too much Cinnamon. Left it out of my next DIY batch. 24 hours later I found out I'd also ACCIDENTLY left the nicotine out as well. Decided who needs it. Continued vaping 50/50 PG/VG until I entered hospital Feb 6 this year. (Nothing to do with my vaping). Didn't take ProVari or anything else with me. Kept me in hospital for 10 days. Out for 2, then back in again for 12 more days. Female Doc can't sew for crap, bowel resection leaked, so back to hospital. Finally got out of hospital. Decided to give all my vaping stuff to family members that are still smoking. Using ecig as substitute, this forum for encouragement. . .can hardly believe how easy it was to quit. Now I claim I ACCIDENTLY quit smoking after 52 years. That's my story and I'ma stickin too it.

Cheers,

I started vaping about a year ago, and now I'm completely off cigarettes. It just didn't happen overnight for me. I used to be a pack and a half a day smoker, and when I started vaping, I did both until I cut down gradually. I was down to maybe five cigarettes a day, and I was like that for almost 6 months. I know, that's a ridiculously long time. I honestly think I was just convincing myself that I just wasn't ready to quit analogs, but I was really just being stubborn. I really just didn't want to quit. Finally, I got really big into mods and stuff, and vaping sort of became my hobby, and a few months ago I was like "Hey... cigarettes taste like crap... why am I doing this?" So I just finished off my pack that was going stale and never bought any more. Haha. And now I can't even stand the smell or the taste of them. Now I work at the vape shop in my town where I bought my first kit last year, and I'm really good friends with my boss. He was just a start up business back then, and at the time he was just running it by himself, but now our store has gotten so much bigger and I'm super close to him and my coworkers. And I love selling e-cigs to customers. I'm glad I finally put down cigarettes, not only because vaping is so much better (duh) but also because it wouldn't be a very good marketing tool to sell e-cigarettes to customers wanting to quit, when I smell like an ashtray. haha.

Over 10 years, I've tried everything to quit... multiple times (I know 10 years doesn't even come close to some people on here who successfully quit with e-cigs). This is the first time I've ever been successful and so far it looks like I'm never going back! E-cigs probably saved my life. My family has a big history of cancer.

I quit in July, roughing it cuz I never heard of vaping. Dangit! all that for nuthin~ So after a month of it I started lookin at ecigs, debating whether I should or not, feeling kinda like a purist having come this far but i was feeling depression and who needs that? So I got an njoy king and wow that was like smokin a cig for real. That became pricier than smoking, I was a pack n half a day habit, one njoy cig lasted a day for 9 bucks if I was careful.

So I went thru a week of that and I stumbled onto vaping online, of course, got to a local shop that night and whalah that was forever my end with stinky cigs. I will never go back, why would I? This is great! I like how its really not like smoking a cigarette if you use something larger more hookah like, the e-gov is what I started with. Next I'll probably go to a dripper with tank, one of those monsters that says **obsession** to anyone outside your world, but that's cool, not the first time. I quit twice, once after 14 yrs of smoking, then after 19 years off cigs I picked em up again while drinking and this last round has been 9 years, so 23 years all together slaving to those things. Even when I didnt smoke I never was without the urges, or nagging internal thing that had me chewing gum like a cow. Attractive look.

So yeah, besides the energy, the skin tone improvement, the taste and smell coming back, the lung buckets full of air, the libido waking up and whatever else positive is happening I'm going to see, the smell on clothes and everything is over!my kids dont need to worry any more or nag me.

And now I have a whole new thing to explore. What I am super happy about it learning how to reverse engineer stuff, the practical things, and the fun stuff like mixing to make my own juice since I have a difficult time finding vape flavors I like well enough for more than a couple pulls.

I just placed a big order from RTS on DIY concentrates cuz I was getting into the spending habit on juices locally, and then just today found out about wizard flavor labs, which is nearly half the price of rts and anything else I researched, offering the same brands and more than rts vapes does. I'm still happy to have my stuff on the way so I can get to mixing. But I will be checking wizard out next time if the TFA flavors are good when I get mine. They charge around 19 cents a mil for their flavors in 8mil. on the known brands. Passin it on, and I'm not affiliated, this is just me a discount shopper. I'm just testin the waters to see who is who and what is what in the vendor world.

I did have to try aroma for their tobacco flavors.

Well, I guess nicotine is a stimulant, I have been runnin on here so that's all for now, but congrats to you all and may this get bigger and completely out of control for the masses stuck like I was without a clue this existed. A safer clean way to smoke without the guilt or drawbacks while kicking a deadly addiction, what a wonderful thing, FINALLY!

I quit on July 29th @ 6:00pm...
That morning before work I had 4 analogs in a pack on my table... I smoked my morning 2 before I left for work. I then made a conscious decision to try my egos instead of my analogs that day... I carried a full pack of analogs unopened along with a lighter, if I opened the pack I knew I would smoke it... I used my egos instead... Along with some awesome cinnamon red hot juice made by my nephew... I made it throughout the day while I was at work...
I had 2 analogs left in that opened pack I left on my table when I got home that day... I sat down, smoked the last 2 back to back and said to myself... Boy that juice tastes so much better than that analog- that's just nasty...
53 days & $500 bucks later... I'm never going back!

Thank you my Tony, (my beautiful nephew)...you saved my life... ❤

That's great! The juice tastes (and smells!) SO much better than cigarettes that I can't even imagine having an analog right now. I can smell people who have been smoking, and step away. Horrible to think that's what I smelled like just a few months ago, eww. Thank gods it's done.

why would anyone wish to go back when now you can vape any of the flavors in the world. I will never look back!
idk. Vaping absinthe right now, and it's so good. I've lost 15 lbs since giving up analogs, as vaping satisfies my craving for snacks, further reason for never going back. What drives me completely bonkers is that earlier when I was trying to quit, they put me on Welbutrin+patch. Welbutrin made me insane; fear to contemplate what Chantrix would have done. Medical personnel who are blithely prescribing mind-altering substances should not be squeamish; if they had recommended vaping, I would not have experienced Welbutrin insanity, and quit a year ago.
