For what it's worth ... I quit smoking when I started vaping about 10 months ago.
Not completely true, since I had one cigarette "just to try it" once about 4/5 months ago. It didn't taste good, and after I put it out, my curiosity was satiated. I don't have any desire to have a cigarette, and I hope I never have another one.
The thing about vaping that worked for me (because I too "quit" a number of times in my life) is that it supplies all the stuff I really liked about smoking: blowing out the vapor, the throat hit, the nicotine (though I'm wondering how important that really is to me) and having something to handle.
But it doesn't smell, my lungs are vastly improved (just ask my doctor), and it's not offensives to others ('cept the "fake coughers" I see once in a while when I vape in public).
My only problem now is that vaping has become yet another gadgety hobby. I bought a Provari and am already thinking about how nice it would be to have two so I can switch flavors more easily on the go ... I definitely spend less than I used to if you consider just the e-juice. When I switched to egos from pen-style fakes, I ended up with two ego twists and six/seven different tanks.
I never thought I'd be into the "coolness" factor of the devices, but it was inevitable ...
But I quit smoking, technically! Feels like I didn't!
