Difference between 808 and 808d connectors?

I ordered some boge 808 cartos from a different vendor and bought a 510-808d Adapter from madvapes. The 808 cartos won't fire on either the vv box from madvapes or my Reo mini... Did I buy the wrong adapter?

It looks like the central post on the adapter is kind of pushed up into the adapter, ie not flush with the bottom, is there a way for me to fix this?

The "d" is in the designation for both styles of KR808's (KR808d-1 and the not-as-common KR808d-2). Did the other vendors cartos specifically say "KR808d-2" in the name/description? If so, then the cartos will have a bit longer threaded area and the threads will bottom out before the center pin makes contact (when using it on a standard KR808d-1 connector or battery).

If not, then you might try screwing the adapter onto the carto first and see if that helps it out. The center pins are usually mounted in such a way that they will "float" or have some give to them.

EDIT: just did a search and another thread states the two KR8's are incompatible - I honestly don't know for sure, but I don't think that's the issue here anyway lol...

The central pole on the adapter is adjustable. You can use 808-1&808-2 cartos w/o problem.
