There's too much to have to know. :)

I now have an EVOD from a blister pack. The next purchases will be glass tanks and spare atomizer heads.

Which EVOD would I have from a newly purchased blister pack - an EVOD or an EVOD 2.
Will the EVOD Glass tanks attach to the rest of it?
Will any of the EVOD atomizers work with it?

Thanks.

If I remember right, EVOD (EVOD 1) uses kanger single coil heads whileas EVOD 2 uses kanger dualcoil heads, main difference between regular evod and evod glass is that evod glass has got a pyrex glass tank, which allows you to use tank cracking liquids, like citrus, absinthe, salmiakki, liqourice etc.

P.S. I'm not an expert on evods or tanks with replaceable coil heads, I had 1 singular evod, which was a knockoff but it worked fine when I still used it

If you have a plain evod battery, one thing worth mentioning is that the more 'modern' Kanger tanks (evod2, evod glass etc.) are dual coil and are not as good at low power as the original single coils.

On a variable power battery, dual coils are good. On a plain battery, stick with the singles (evod original, mini Protank 1 and 2).....

I know it sounds counter-intuitive that the new tanks must be better than the old tanks, but actually, Kanger designed the new dual coil tanks with variable power in mind... the point is.... a dual coil has two coils which limits burning at higher power... or, put another way enables the user to use VV/VW far more effectively.

However, if your battery is a 'vanilla' eGo (3.7v) then you might find you get less vapour, not more, than a single coil.

Was there any information on or in the blister pack as far as what coils to use? Original Evod tanks are single coil. Evod 2 and Evod Glass tanks are dual coil. I am pretty sure you cannot interchange the single and dual coils unless you are rebuilding stock coils, so this will make a big difference when you need to purchase new coils.

maybe a link or a picture ?

seems most now “generically” call that style
(bottom coil / base / small tank) an EVOD

noticed you never used the word KANGER

you’re looking for the key “bdc” (dual) or “bcc” (single)
you can tell what kind you have by just looking at the coil itself...

in this picture, the first one is an Aspire bdc (disregard)
the middle two are Kanger bdc, dual coil (same coil, different version)
the one on end (right) is the old kanger bcc, single coil...

•qwik look the size of the silicone cup washer, then see the two wicks
sticking out – & if it is the ‘enclosed’ one, easy, it’s bdc dual

•little silicone cup washer, one wick sticking out (single bcc coil)

lets us know what ya find

Thank you all very much.

It is indeed from KangerTech.

Does that help?

You are correct, the single coils for the EVOD are shorter and will not seal against the chimney. The dual coils are longer. Definitely not interchangable.

The Evod is a single coil tank. The Evod 2 and Evod Glass are dual coils. Basically the Evod 2 and Evod Glass are the same thing except one has glass windows.
The single coils from the Evod will work on any of them. The dual coils from the evod 2 and evod glass will work with each other but not work on the regular evod.

the picture will show you the difference in size
pertaining to seating the coil to the air tube
and why they are NOT interchangeable...

This is the blister pack on their wholesale site, with more info:

Kanger EVOD Blister Pack - Kangertechuswholesale.com

Forgetting the glass for a second and just trying to identify the coil replacements, they have all of these listed as single coil replacements on the wholesale website:

Kanger Single Coils 5 Pack, 2.5 ohm
Kanger Single Coil 5 Pack, 2.2 ohm
Kanger Single Coils 5 Pack, 1.8 ohm
Kanger Single Coils 5 Pack, 2.8 ohm

How do I know which one to buy?

OK
you want the bcc (bottom coil changeable)
it is the older style single bottom coil (Kanger)

then you need to choose the Ω (ohms, resistance)
or in other terms - the HEAT range you prefer to vape your juice with
1.5Ω - 1.8Ω - 2.0Ω - 2.5Ω etc

guess you're using the 650 mah battery that came with it ?

if so, it is set to output 3.7 volts only (not variable volt or adjustable battery)

I'd recommend using 1.8Ω Kanger bcc single coils
- Kanger ProTank & Evod Coil Replacement **5 Pack - 1.8ohms

you'll want to get a VV spinner style battery in near future

- Smoktech Winder (Twist) 900mah - Black

Thank you so much. Really appreciate it.

And as for the Glass tank, as far as I can tell, if I stay with the single coil for now, which I think I want to, I think there isn't a glass tank option.
I'm pretty sure now that the EVOD Glass Blister is dual coil.

No - what I posted was the regular EVOD Blister. But I also made reference to desiring a glass tank for it, noting there Is such a thing as an EVOD Glass Blister out there now. But, I believe the EVOD Glass Blister is dual coil.

The Protank 2 Mini is a single coil glass tank, and uses the same Kanger single coils as the Evod.

OK, gotcha

  • original EVOD bcc / plastic
  • EVOD 2 bdc / plastic
  • EVOD Glass bdc / glass

but if GLASS is what you want with a single coil, just as
glointhedark said, mini Protank 2 uses a bcc coil and is a GREAT performer
- Kanger Mini ProTank 2
plus unlike the evod, you can take it apart to clean and dry easy

guess I misunderstood your "Q"

thought you were just trying to determine diff of bcc vs bdc
and what you had and what worked where
but now I get you want bcc but in a glass topper ? (sound right)

sorry for confusing

Just a 'heads up' comment on this thread.

A while ago (6 months, maybe more) I noticed a lot of people where looking to buy direct from the Kanger retail site in the US.

I looked into the prices, and Kanger were charging way over standard price for most of the products. So, if you are yet to buy anything and are thinking of shopping on the site you linked to in this thread, please cross-check the prices.

It's the same in the UK, the Joyetech 'official' site is much more expensive than a Joyetech stockist.
