I'm hoping you'll get the right ones so I'll know of a source for them too. This is a picture of the .5 ohm SS wire coil that came with my topbox mini kit and also with a spare toptank mini that I purchased. It has two large holes and one smaller hole as well as a seam on the top, with the top part the same diameter as the rest of the coil body. Looking around online I can't be certain what version of the coil is for sale as you've all pointed out most of the pictures don't match up (some have no seams, some have smaller tops, etc.) Also some people are saying the coil is terrible, some say it leaks, some say it's fantastic, etc. I suspect lots of folks are talking about all different versions...

Just want to let you know my kangertechus.com coils came and they are the ones we were looking for. The bigger ones with the seam and the three holes... two big one small. They are the ones listed on the regular ssocc. They're in a link I posted earlier. The picture on the box does not have a seam on the coil but the coils are the right ones. I think it may just be a design error on the new box.
Also I have had both these bigger ones, I guess they are the new ones, and the 2 hole ones with the narrower top. These new bigger ones are a lot better. The other ones I have issue with flooding and the o rings are crap on them.

Packaging does not always keep up with product - unless mandated by regulations.
Glad that you got the coils you were looking for! Enjoy!! :)

So frustrating! Ok, so I ordered the .5ohm "upgraded" coils direct from kangertechus at the following link, as referred to by sasquatch earlier:
KangerTech US | Kanger Upgraded SSOCC Coils for Toptank/ Subtank/ NEBOX (5 Pack)

It took a week and I finally received them. They are the right coil body (two large holes, one small, seam at the top, doesn't get smaller at the top) but they are nichrome and not stainless steel. They have NC printed on the outside of the coil and a red ring instead of a pinkish ring. Argh! Also in my opinion they are terrible compared to the SS ones.

So I'm back to the drawing board. Does anyone know where you can get .5ohm SS coils like the one that comes with the toptank mini and with the topbox mini kit? This shouldn't be so difficult, I'm just looking for more of what kanger ships with their stuff!

I can confirm that VapeNW has them in stock. I got them the other day, and they are the larger ones that came with the top tank mini.

I'm actually going to call them and ask if the 1.2's are also the larger ones. I'm finding that becuase the tank is small and warmer, a 1.2 gives almost the same experience on it that a .5 does on the subtank plus.

Thanks so much for this! I just want to be sure of one thing. Do the SS coils (pink O rings) come in 1.2 and 1.5 or is that just a typo? Just wondering since the SS coil we all got in our topbox kits were 0.5.

Kanger really needs to update their website and let us know when the TI SSOCC's are coming as well. Also all my SS and NI200 coils all read between .6 to .63 for some reason not only on the Topbox mini mod but the subox mini mod as well. Are they not building these to the right ohms?

If this entire pack of Nickle SSOCC's all read .6 and above Kanger needs some serious QC. Lets hope that's not the case.

Thanks drysprocket. I actually ordered some from vapenw earlier this evening to see what they are shipping.

Can you confirm that they are actually stainless steel wire? The SS ones have "SS" embossed on the side as opposed to Ni or NC. Kanger calls them all SSOCC coils, with stainless steel casings, which is causing a lot of the confusion.

I just double checked....they say NC, I'm soooooooo sorry! But I could swear this is the one that came installed in the top tank mini (red ring). And there was also a blue NI one too. Are you sure it was a pink SS one?

I thought I finally had kanger's confusing riddle figured out; I've failed :(

I'm thinking about this- I'm not only almost sure that a red ring came installed, but it also gave the wattage range (15-60) just like these do. Hmm..unless SS isn't for temp control? I'm so confused. Truly sorry for the misinformation.

Hey, no problem! Thanks for trying to help!

Yeah, I'm sure. I have the pink coils right in front of me. It's more like a pale red I guess. I posted a picture up above a few posts back where you can clearly see the SS on the coil. I think the coil that came installed both in the toptank in the topbox kit and in the additional toptank I purchased were actually nickel (with blue rings) and a lower resistance. The SS coils I'm interested in were included separately in the box.

Thanks! I wonder if that's what they will look like? From my understanding that picture shows an older style of coil that many have reported is more prone to leaks and produces less flavor.

See the top of the coil? There is no seam. Also it gets narrower at the top. That coil won't have the three wicking holes - two large and one small.

You can compare to the picture I provided earlier of the new ones that come with the topbox kit and toptank mini.

But maybe the picture you included is just not updated. How do you know it's a new product?

Kanger US isn't any help. I called/emailed with them and they don't seem to know what's going on with the coils either. I did get someone who said they'd check out what they have in the warehouse: "We have checked the coils and none of them have that pink o ring."

I noticed that at the helpful link:
Clearing Up the Confusion About The Kanger SSOCC Coils
It now says:
The SUS316 SSOCC Coils are not currently available for sale as a 5 pack from Kanger* However, once the packs are released, they will be available HERE

So maybe we just have to wait a while longer...

Also Sweet Vapes has the new coils in stock, and they even show comparison pics between these and the older ones, which they say are no longer being produced. I guess the semi confirms this.

I've done some more testing, and I honestly can't tell the difference as much as I thought between the old and new. Though it could be because I only vape around 30W. I have some new version 1.2's on the way, and I'll be sure to give me thoughts if they seem different.

Okay, so the coil that came in my toptank nano is pretty large, cylindrical, and has two large holes with a smaller hole in-between. The SSOCC coils I ordered are a littler smaller and have two mediumish holes, and the coils are a little narrower. I am having problems with the replacement coils flooding my air holes. Also when I close off the airflow and take a draw some air is still pulling through. Is anyone familiar with these SSOCC coils? Are they not authentic?
I got them here:
Kanger NEBOX SSOCC and Clapton Coil
But they don't quite look like the photo. Also the o-ring that is blue in the picture is red and looks like a crappy quality, which I suspect is causing my problem.
Edit: Also, the link refers to Ni 200 (is that this coil?) and how it is only for use in temperature-control mods, and mentions explosion risk. I am using it in a toptank on a subvod, not a temperature-control mod I don't think? But it also refers to them as OCC coils, but the listing and the box say ssocc?

The coils are identical to this:
Authentic Kanger 0.5 Ohm SSOCC Coil Head for Nebox
which says it is for use in subvod.
The ssocc means stainless steel organic cotton it is not nickel. And is supposed to run in both modes. I would check the coil again and. See if maybe there is not enough cotton for absorption make sure you prime that guy for 30 seconds and then let it sit for 5 minutes in the machine so it can absorb good.hope that helped

Oops I told u wrong you need the ones with the blue ring I double checked my coil and box and the casing is ssocc and the wire is ni 200 with a .15 ohm resistance but the thing about priming and soaking is right. I have a nebox and use those coils, and really like them .

Forgot to mention that the blue ones are only for use in. A temp control mod

The 3 hole SSOCC coils were introduced in January. If you're finding the 2 hole version they are old stock that is still being sold off.

I recently ordered 2 packs on the SSOCC Ni200 coils and got the new 3 hole version of those. I've really been enjoying them at 550F and 50W. They work great with 80/20 juice. Never a dry hit even when chain vaping and have really good flavor and vapor production. The one possible negative I've noticed is that I do go through juice A LOT faster with them. I'm going through an additional 2ml or so per day using the new coils.

Just to follow up on the order I referred to above from VapeNW...

Wow, stay away from this place!

They were the only place I found that you could actually select "stainless steel" as an option for the SSOCC coils (other choices were Ni200, etc.) So I figured I would either get the stainless steel coils or they would tell me they weren't available/were on backorder or something. Instead they sent me the Nichrome ones (red ring, "NC" in the coil.) They were the new 3 hole variety for those that care. I actually tried to return them since I clearly selected "stainless steel" as the type for the SSOCC, it says the coil type is "stainless steel" on my order form, and these are clearly not the stainless steel variety of the SSOCC coil.

I noticed the coils were the wrong ones right away and didn't open them. You'd think easy return, right? Nope - They've been giving me the runaround for days. After I ordered them, they must have realized they made a mistake - They acknowledged changing the website to remove the stainless steel option (they did this a few days after my order.) They insist the coils are Kanthal (which or course is wrong, they are nichrome, but that has nothing to do with anything), and that they are what I ordered. How can a vendor admit to changing their website to remove the item you ordered after you ordered it, replace it with another item, acknowledge that the order form you have says you ordered the variety they removed, and refuse to take the misrepresented item back?

Anyway, if you go to VapeNW, they presently have the following options for the Kanger SSOCC coil: Kanthal, Ni200, and Clapton. Based on the informative link above from vaporauthority and my conversations with Kanger themselves, the options should instead be: Nichrome, Ni200, and Clapton (with Kanthal). VapeNW won't even acknowledge they still have it wrong...

I've now given up on trying to find the Kanger stainless steel SSOCC coils (pink O ring, "SS" etched on the coil) and found a disreputable vendor I'll never do business with again. I don't think anyone currently has the Kanger stainless steel SSOCC coils. I'm going to move on and try a different brand of tank/coils.

The topbox comes with a 0.15 ni200 and a .5 ohm nichrome coil. They used to have SS stamped on the heads to signify stainless steel construction, not wire. I believe they removed that because it was causing confusion. I haven't looked at the ones I got from VapeNW. They are the new style 3-hole though. I have not heard of anyone receiving ss wire heads in their topbox "kit".
