I had ordered an eGo 510 USB Fast Charger thinking it came with the an electrical outlet adapter or whatever that is called (the little box with a USB port that can plug into the wall). But it was only the USB cable. So I looked on the site again and see that you have "mains plugs." Is that the part I'm looking for? If so, which one should I purchase for the batteries I have - the "1200mAh USB Mains Plug" or the "USB Mains Plug - US"? I live in the U.S., but was not sure if the 1200mAh USB Mains Plug would work, and how that differs from the USB Mains Plug-US.

I need to it to charge extra large and standard eGo/Riva batteries. Thanks!

Generally, the 500 mAh are used with eGo and Riva fast chargers; the 1200 mAh with passthroughs.

Hi, Salt! :)

Thanks, Katya! Even though the 1200 mAh is typically used with passthroughs, are they still safe to use for simply charging from a wall outlet or a computer? I just don't want to do any damage or weaken the life of any of the batteries I have.

I wouldn't use a 1200 mAh charger with my eGos. Recommended charge rate for most Li batteries is 1C (capacity in mAh.), i.e., a 650 mAh battery should be charged at 650mAh, max. Charging at 2C (1200 mAh charger) may damage your battery.

However, charging rates lower than 1C are OK, which means it's OK to use a standard 510 charger (150 mAh) to charge your 650 mAh fat batts; it will just take longer.

This is my understanding. If I'm wrong, please somebody correct me.

You might be right - but again - as I understand it, That 1200mA USB adapter, is still gonna be limited by the 500mA rating on the USB charger itself. The 1200mA adapter is just bringing that much power from the wall, to the charger. The USB Charger is still in charge of supplying current to the battery.

please correct me if im wrong.

Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure. I did think about it. You're most likely correct--it's the USB charger that charges the battery. Sorry, I'm not an expert on batteries.
