My pair of chargers for my 901 Riva don't charge my batteries. The batteries themselves will charge on my 901 charger but at 100mah output takes all day or night to charge the Riva. I'm used to the oddities of the larger current eGo charger. All of those require me to unplug the charger, plug it back in and then screw in an eGo and it will charge. To charge a second battery I need to repeat the sequence. So I tried that with the Riva 901 chargers. Didn't help. Tried screwing in the Riva and then plugging in the charger. Didn't work. Tried plugging in the charger then the Riva, nope. This is using my 2000mah AC to USB adapter which rules out the AC adapter as the problem. That adapter works great for me with every other charger I own. Also tried it with 2 of my laptops. No go. If I screw the Riva into the standard 100mah 901 charger it immediately turns red and starts to charge. Seems to prove the Rivas themselves aren't at issue. Just the charger.

Luckily I order more from this 2nd batch of kits. The first charger I tried from them works great. So I'm not looking for a replacement. More like the sequence I describe with the eGo charger. I'm hoping other folks have had similar problems and have a solution.

It's that little round metal bit in the charger connector not sticking out far enough to touch the battery, if you lift it up a bit with a mini screwdriver or something now and again it keeps it working temporarily. Abe said he will give me a replacement in my next order which was very nice of him, unfortunately i don't know a permanent fix for it.

most of the time, some something isn't working (chargers/batteries/atties...) it's because there's no current. At least in my experience.

The first thing I do, is just how Firefly describes :)
try lifting the center post(s), and reconnecting. Doesn't work everytime, but more often than not, for me!

and yes, please, if something doesn't work, Tell Me!
I would not only love to replace it, but want to get to the bottom of these kinds of issues.
It helps to gain an understanding, so I can better help other customers who may face similar issues.
Also, if it's faulty product, that is something we need to take up with the manufacturer.

ciao

Since I posted this I checked out the rest of the chargers. Both from the initial batch do not work. All 3 I got from this latest batch work fine. The first batch ones are seem to be exactly the same as the later ones but they just don't work. Since I really don't need 5 kits its not an issue as I have 3 working chargers. Worked out well that I decided to get 3 kits the second time around instead of just a half dozen batteries and cones. Cause now I have working chargers ;)

@ ImYourSalt I just ordered a joye 510 and joye ego kit From LF and picked up in person in San Diego. My EGO charger "main" I guess you call it is not working right. The kit said usb high speed charger and usb main..... usb seems to work on the computer but when plugged into the main the light is always green and doesn't seem to fully charge the EGO battery. I bought an EGO PCC at the same time and have to use that to charge my EGO when not around a computer. Do you think you can help me out? Would like to have a working main for my EGO.

Thanks
Dan

I'm pretty sure you want everyone to disconnect from the power first.

:)

I had the same problem. I chalked it up to occasionally putting an 808 carto on the 901 Riva, and doing that maybe pushing the center post of the battery down into the shell. After all, I don't think they were made to work together, but they just do pretty well. So, I was pulling up on that battery center post -- making sure not to hit the button to turn it on while doing so. That works, too. From reading here, now I'm not sure which post it is best to pull up on.

Any thoughts?

Thx!

Tim

My thoughts on which one to fiddle with. A charger costs less than a battery so if you ruin something break the cheaper one. Of course you could look at the fact that without a charger you won't have any working batteries once the charge is used up.

Great points, bsoplinger.

Because my wife and I both started vaping last month, I've been, basically, ordering two of everything, i.e. starter kits. So, we do have two (or four) chargers of the various types.

Now if I could only quit looking for an ashtray when I want to put down my PV when I start to type. :)
