I'm rather new and checking out different types of pvs.

I have a regular eGo/Tornado right now - reg 510 atty w/ carts. From what I understand it's a 3.7 device.

So what is the essential difference between an eGo and a ProVape 1? I mean, looks wise, they are very much different. Many differences in design, safety features, etc ...

But I suppose what I'm asking is why would someone buy a ProVape instead of an eGo? What's the deciding factor?

Thank you.

Actually under load the regular 3.7v eGo battery measures only @3.2volts. See:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html

The Provape uses true 3.7v batts and will result in more wattage - and vapor - using the same resistance atomizers. However, the Riva Special Edition batteries are operating at the full 3.7v underload - see the same thread but more recent posts by Scottbee. So you can maintain the 'eGo look' with the same wattage as a provape.

BUT the Riva SE batt will be 750 mAh whereas the 14500 batts in the Provape will be 900mAh which will give you about an hour and a half more vaping.

The provape will also be a bit longer and wider diameter.

Other 'factors' is that the batteries for the Provape will run cheaper over the long term and they are not proprietary.

That said, I've had all types of mods - box types and tube types over the last year and a half and I'm pretty much 'all eGo' (no jokes :) now. I have one variable mod that I like for a specific flavor - coffee - but have 6 eGos/Tornados/Rivas with other flavors going.

That's why we call Kent C an eGomaniac :)

He's right though.

If you wanted to step up, a ProVari would be a better solution as it uses a bigger battery, and you can vary the voltage to get your sweet spot with any combination of atty/cart/liquid. I'd get the extended version with the largest battery, if you are going to go that route, as if you do something you might as well do it properly.

It's a fair number of beer coupons though :)

I am a very happy ProVape-1 user for almost a year now. [I have the 901 fitting that I use with 901 and 801 attys, the latter with an adapter, of course.] However, if I were a 510 man, it would be difficult to justify spending $130 for a device that delivers only 150 more mAh than a $35 Riva (e.g., from Liberty-Flights). It would take quite some time for the difference in replacement battery costs to pay off.

Question for Kent: Is it only the Riva Special Edition that delivers 3.7V under load? [Although it almost doesn't matter; it's only five bucks more than the "Lite Bundle."]
