Yes. Clean and check every connection.
Dirt and corrosion build up resistance and can cause misfires.
Buttons loosen.
Make sure everything is right and shiny like a new penny.

99% of all problems with mechs are due to dirty or loose contacts/hardware.
the bottom pin has plating that had worn off slightly; everything is clean otherwise

I'm not sure how to "tighten" the bottom pin, or the firing pin (which is floating) for that matter

What do you mean by "connections", exactly? I cleaned all the threads etc..

Gold plating doesn't create a better circuit, it creates a better connection. Make sense? Solid copper/silver/gold pins make a better circuit.

It's Monster Cable logic.

NO, I get that. the plating to which I'd been referring is the plating on the outside of the middle tube

So I'm vacationing in Las Vegas, and ended up swooping on a Maraxus mod with a Nimbus Atty. Does anyone know the differences between the real and the clone maraxus?
View attachment 321465View attachment 321466

I purchased the real Maraxus back in August with a Gold plated Drip-Tip and Atomic Atty for over $300 straight from the Philippines, I had it for well over a Month before deciding to sell it on Ebay. It wasn't that I didn't like it (I LOOOVED IT), I simply felt that Clones were the way to go at the time, and the money I could get for a real Maraxus was a gamble well spent.

I ended up selling it for $220 with a "BUY NOW" within 5 minutes of me posting it (I am still kicking myself in the .... for selling this MOD).

Well, just a month ago I got my hands on a Clone version, and all I could say is... "HOLY .....", it's "ALMOST" Identical (almost!)!!!

The clone is 100% BRASS and Steel, now the real Maraxus claims it is made of "316 Surgical Steel", but to me, EVERYTHING was and is IDENTICAL!!!

Now the real Maraxus is a "Telescopic And Collapsible Type Mod", the Clone achieves this aswell. I put the clone in a couple of different positions, and to my amazement, it did it just as "the real deal".

The "ONLY" difference I could find, was that the "Spikes" were VERY sharp on the clone (the real Maraxus are EXTREMELY SMOOTH and rounded off), to the point that if you dug in your pocket for it and tried to pull it out and your hand slipped, I am sure it would cut you!

The clone also has "Machine" marks on the inner (inside) "Fangs" (as if a saw blade cut them to Precision leaving these marks), this is very apparent on the clone! The Real Maraxus fangs are as SMOOOTH as silk, literally rounded off like butter! The quality on the real Maraxus is at a higher level simply because of this.

This is HONESTLY the ONLY difference I see between the Clone and the real Maraxus. The look, the weight, the feel (until your fingers hit them edges) are the same! The clone IMHO is just as good as the real thing.

I showed my wife my clone, and here reaction "You got that thing back again!" lol I went over the details with her, she knows now, but in all honesty, $40 bucks compared to what I innitially paid (Over $300)??? I feel like crying! :( The clone "IS" the Maraxus, sad to say. Other then the sharp corners and machine marks, compared to rounded corners, it's absolutley IDENTICAL in weight, looks, and both HIT like a beast, IDENTICAL draw!

I have 13 "3rd" Generation Panzer Blackhawk Clones on the way, I am looking forward to comparing the "REAL DEAL" side by side to what my manufacturer is considering a new level in Cloning with this 3rd generation of Panzers!!! We'll see! :)

I'm gonna return this one.

Who made the clone you discuss above?

here's a question:

Maraxus by EHPro - some sites say "gold plated brass", some say "silver plated copper", others say "copper", for the contacts. Which is the actual EHPro?

I purchased mine on Ebay, I just checked and he has no more listing for them.

I did find one made by "Winsmoke" that looks and sounds very promising. It's Solid Brass and stainless steel. Only difference I see is the Pyramid at the bottom is etched in black, my clone does not have this, and my real Maraxus did not either (although I have seen Pics of real Maraxus Mods with this Black etching on the button, my guess is different batches at earlier/later times. IMO it does look really cool, makes the etching stand out). Here's the description..

"This Maraxus Clone is very distinctive from all the rest, featuring real solid brass rings, center tube, and button, rather then the common gold plating over stainless steel. The button also features the pyramid engraving in black with a unique serial number.

This edition is denser, harder, tougher, and sweeter then those cheap FT clones. And you will not find this clone, or any of Winsmokes other high quality reproductions on FT."

I'll be honest, I'm very tempted to hit the BUY NOW button on this one, just for comparison sake, it looks to be extremely well made.

I actually pulled the trigger on a new one last night. I'd seen that one, and had been considering that, one that was all SS, and the one I got.

The main differences were:

-SS and unplated brass w/brass pins ($43)
or
-SS w/brass pins ($43)
or
-SS and plated brass w/copper pins ($38)

I went with the copper pins, and am thinking id the plating ends up coming off again I'll try to patina it.

The one I'd initially got, after talking with the vender (eBay), who is newb but seems pretty chill, was made by Walrus Tech, and it is a piece of junk. It actually only fires maybe 50% of the time now, just 1 week in.
