I am new to vaping and currently using only 510 attys...have been happy with them overall, but I am the type of person that likes to try everything :D I am looking to try out either 801 or 901 attys and I am wondering what to expect from them. Are there significant differences between the two?

Does one run cooler than the other, especially with heavy vaping (my 510 can get pretty hot)?
Does one produce more vapor than the other?
One give better flavor, throat hit, longevity, one atty better for particular volts than the other? etc... you catch my drift :p any opinions and tips would be greatly appreciated so I can know what to expect and decide which type to try out first.

ohm ratings are different between the 510, 901, and 801. 510 is lowest @2.1 ohms runs hotter, then the 901 @3.3ohms and the coolest running is the 801 at @3.8 ohms. You'll get more vapor and throat hit the hotter the atty runs. Which isn't to say that you get no vapor or throat hit on the higher ohm attys and of course the voltage applied is a considerable factor which combined will give you the current.

Now there are high voltage attys (higher ohms to run on HV mods) and LR - low resistance attys which run hotter - eg. 1.5 ohm 801 which runs about as good as a 510 as far as vapor and throat hit goes.

I dont know one ohm from another (Kent C does, listen to him lol) but I do know my 901 attys run cooler than my 510 just from normal usage (510 gets volcanic, 901 just a bit hot) - and they do better with my fruity type flavors as far as flavor goes. TH seems about the same to me, as does vapor. My 901s dont enjoy 5v batts much either (but that might be something I'm not doing, idk). I would say I prefer fruity vapes, and lighter flavors in general, on the 901 and everything else on the 510 - I can't compare with an 801 cos I dont have one of those.

i haven't had the best luck with 801 attys, but they do deliver the most flavor in my experience, 901 attys tend to have a more vapor but less taste at lower voltages, however running at higher voltage a 901 will deliver great taste and vapor. I'm hoping to get a LR 801 atty so I can get good vapor and taste at lower voltages

My 801s run much cooler than 510s at 3.7v and, off a PT or fully charged batt, the 801s produce more vapour.

At 6v, the 801 burns the back of my throat out, even with light hits.

I find I prefer sweet flavours with the 801, and tobacco flavours on the 510.

I can't speak to the 901. I don't have any.

Thanks so much for all the responses, very informative!!! I do tend to like the fruity flavors the best so I am glad to hear that both the 801s and 901s deliver. The Low Resistance attys sound interesting and I might go that route but just so I'm clear (when it comes to Ohms/Resistance/Watts/Volts its pretty much all Greek to me lol)...If I went with a low res atty am I correct in thinking that I should only use it with lower volts? And I would go with a high voltage atty for say a 5v? My passthrough is a 5v and based on the link Kent C posted from Scubabatdan the 801 is a good match. So I will probably go with the 801 for my passthrough and try the 901 for lower volts. Decisions Decisions...there are just too many options! :p
