Hello all!! FWI TL;DR on bottom

I just got into this forum. I have been working at a smoke shop for about 2 years. We just recently within the last year gotten into the e cig/vaping scene and since I am their only employee that actually does any smoke related things (don't ask, none have smoked even a cig) they give me free things to try, see what's good, and teach them and customers.

Long story short I started small. Now I have a sigelei 150w, 4-5 Manhattan mods, many fuhattans, few kings, Nemesis's, isticks, ipv's and so on. And rda/rba tanks from tohb, dark horse, doge, troll, atlantis, kanger sub ect. All free so I have no real input. But my main question......

I use 3mg nic 70/30 -80/20 mix. I have no idea what is going on or if the places I am getting my liquid from are lying to me but some juices I can get clouds for days, fill my car in one puff. And others I take a half second srag and end up coughing my lungs out. With the same watt, batts, build, tank, everything. What could be possibly going on?

TL;DR different juices, same 70/30 80/20 same nic. Different harshness. Different places and companies. Wtf?

From what i have heard. nicotine that isn't pharmaceutical grade can give quite the throat hit. As an example, I normally vape 1mg/ml but with a bottle of cuttwood at 6mg i can vape on that and get the same throat hit from the 1mg. Another reason is some flavors are extracted with ethyl alcohol. This is where steeping comes into play. you let the bottle sit out and evaporate all of the alcohol, the throat hit will be less harsh. Just a side note, steeping also can help with increasing flavor.

Some flavors benefit from a short period of steeping, or maturing. Everyone has their own methods of steeping, but basically it is allowing the mixture to mature for 1 - 2 weeks prior to vaping. Not all liquids require it. Not all vapers steep. If the liquid has an alcohol base, sitting overnight with the top cap off of the bottle allows evaporation of the alcohol.

Quality of the nicotine base, Pg and Vg, and the flavoring agents used go a long way to how smooth the vapor will be.

Of course, we're only talking about e-liquid here. The devices used to make vapor also contribute to the quality of the vape.

Wow thanks all you guys. I believe it's either a 70/30 80/20 vg/pg. And it is in a Doge rda not a tank, sorry about that confusion. I have also had the same liquid in my subtanks, and that's where the huge difference comes into play.

I think I am going to just keep a record of goods and bads. Narrow things down. And I guess let the bad ones steep and see how it is.

Again thanks guys!

Edit: Are shops allowed to use non pharmacy grade nic? Or as long as its food grade. Or.....haha. I know the one juice I have. Don't know vg/pg but its 6mg nic and its smooth as hell in my rda. And it's from a largish company Voda based here in Tempe or Scottsdale, AZ

If this is in a tank, some may be too thick to wick. You might be pushing power limits anyway. Flavorings vary too.

You didn't say if those ratios were PG/VG or VG/PG .. maybe they're both ... if they'd keep listing the PG first you wouldn't need to specify e.g. 30/70 not 70/30 (which could be correct in the old days).

50/50 is all I know
