All 3 of my juices are at 18mg strength and I honestly haven't felt a buzz from any of them like I get from a single menthol cig. Maybe I should have tried starting at 24mg. What confuses me though is that on the side of my cigarette pack, it says "Nicotine 0.7mg".. I'm assuming that's per cig. So a pack of 20 = 14mg for the whole pack! Now, I'm vaping 18mg per ml and go through pretty much a full clearomizer in one day. I fill it above the 1.6ml line, so probably it's actually 2ml, which equates to 2 x 18 = 36mg per day and I'm getting absolutely no buzz or hit from my e-cig.

It is very unrealistic to think that vaping will immediately replace smoking. If you genuinely want to kick the smoking habit then give yourself a timescale. I switched by reducing from 20+ a day to zero in the space of 5 weeks by setting a target of 10 cigs the first week, 9 the next and so on. After 5 weeks i felt comfortable enough to stop smoking entirely.
I also know plenty of people who combine smoking and vaping and are happy to do so.

'Stop thinking of cigarettes as rewards or treats, they are an addiction that at best will make you ill and at worst will kill you.' was my mantra during my stopping phase.

Cigarette tasting juice did it for me in the beginning although now, after 8 months, i hate tobacco juices and much prefer fruit or sweet flavours.

Oh, and buy some low ohm cartomisers and ditch the clearos (especially the cheap knock offs) for more vapour and throat hit. IMO.

You absorb 30-50% of the nicotine from vaping than you would from smoking. Vapor molecules are much bigger than smoke molecules and aren't absorbed as deeply in your lungs. You actually get more nicotine vaping from your mucous membranes (mouth and nose) than you get from your lungs.

I keep seeing people tell Noobs to not Vape like you would smoking a real Cig..and I've never gotten why they say that. I Vape the same way I smoke.

Here's what hottierockstar was meaning...when you got go take a draw off your PV..take a drag in your mouth, let it sit there for a second, then inhale..don't inhale straight to your lungs.

I have never known any smoker to inhale straight to their lungs..well, when they smoke something else, but not Cigs.

Well when I smoked cigs I did. That changed when I switched to cigars. I inhaled them (really stupid folks) but it was more closer to the method you describe for e-cigs.
When I tell people that want to try my e-cig I do say that but I demonstrate what I'm talking about. :)

That could actually make sense lol :) Never thought about particle size and absorption ratios... Every day a school day ;)

If you are coming off the cigarettes then you probably need to substitute them at first rather than experiment with flavours so if you smoked menthol go for a menthol tobacco flavour rather than Spearmint or Peppermint.
Try a high nic content to start with, you can always cut down on the content or stop vaping if you get light-headed, it`s better to be satisfied than to keep craving a cigarette.
If high nic content is too harsh try a juice with the same mg but more VG, this hits less hard than a juice with a high PG content.

Just a few ideas and good luck :) there is no quick and easy fix but this (vaping) is far and away the best method imho :)

Ive only been 155 days at vaping and havent touched tobacco. True I started with the tank system from electroniccigarettes.com aka Vapor King. The "Other Vapor King" You gotta want to quit. I couldnt put my kids through what my parents unknowingly did to me and my sis and got tired of spending so much money on the filthy habit. But I smoked for 37 years and my wife had had enouh! As a doctor she finally got tired of patients and colleagues saying things like"what brand do you smoke?",etc As I got older I finally had to admit not only was I surely killing myself, but I would probably take my wife with me because there is no longer a medical debate over the fact that second hand smoke kills too! As I said.. you have to want to stop. one Noob said ecigs are more expensive. That is not true by a longshot. Keep looking around for the right flavors and strengths. Youll find the one. I dont know much about PV's as I make my own mods and juice. Please stay with it..dont be another cig related statistic. I dont know you but I care. Tigershark

Yeah Buddy,I read here about standard, high and low resistance atomizers and cartomizers.Sometimes I vape a 3.7V mod and sometimes a 5V LR's cant take the 5V but when I switched to a low resistance carto(2.1 from 3.2) BAM! I got hit like a ton of bricks!! Awesome. True I still go SR when vaping 5 or so but it makes a dif. Tigershark

I started vaping and quit smoking the same day. I did want a cig the next morning with coffee but told myself to vape just 5 minutes then if i still was craving i would smoke a cig. In my case it worked because after chain vaping for 5 minutes i didn't want a cig anymore.

Oh yeah, it helped that i put my cigs in the freezer and put away my lighters and ashtray. Also chain vaping was key. ymmv

everyone has different experiences, so read what others advise and try out different things until you find the right combo for yourself.

Look30 has a great point....."hooked on habit, not nicotine". I'm only 10 days smoke free, and the things I miss are lighting up, the actual smoke and the warmth of the smoke. What I don't miss, however, is the "cigarette funk" left on clothes when you sweat the smoke out of your skin, or that nasty "morning after" odor on clothes and hair after being around a bunch of cigarette smokers and smoking myself, or the nasty film on my car windows and the musty odor of my car.

I started vaping last september with a LuxuryLites ecig....those ones that look like cigs, and slowly cut down from 20+ per day, to 15, to 10, to finally 2 cigs a day. However, when I got to 2 cigs (did that for about 2 months) I realized I had a 2nd cigarette because I felt that "I should" for the 2 cigs.....turned out I only smoked about half of then and threw it out. Then I realized "wow, I thought that 'I should' have that 2 cigs...like as if I had to fulfill some weird prophecy or something.". When i realized that Vaping (and snuff and snus and occasional pipe tobacco....not inhaled) is so much more enjoyable as far as the "hobby" aspect is concerned, I bought an eGo-T and went to just only vaping 10 days ago. If I expected vaping to be exactly like cigarettes, I would have been disappointed.

Its actually sort of weird to get the nicotine without the other chemicals in cig smoke.....without the odor of cigarettes, my brain is still trying to figure out why my body feels the similar satisfaction as cigarettes. lol! :)

My experience is/was similar to the OP's when I first tried an E-Cig. I thought it was okay, but it didn't leave me feeling satisfied and I would want a cigarette almost immediately after vaping.

What I have quickly learned is you can "tailor" your vaping experience in an endless amount of ways. What works for one person may not work at all for another. My first question to anyone who thinks it "could" work for them, but doesn't find their initial vaping experience satisfying is "why not?" Was there not enough vapor? Not enough of a throat hit? Too much of one? Bad flavor, not enough flavor, not enough nicotine? All of those things can be adjusted by methods other people have mentioned above, and I could make specific recommendations as well if you can identify some aspects you think may be missing from your overall experience.

While I have no personal experience with the Ego T system, I would mention that the Ego Tank system is only one of countless other "attachments" that can be used to produce the vapor, all of which can offer a vastly different experience. Perhaps pick up an affordable clearomizer or cartomizer and see if that experience is more satisfying.

Finally, I will throw out the variable voltage battery as something that could potentially help. One of the most common and popular is the Ego C Twist which runs about 20-30 dollars depending on the size you choose. The benefit to this style of battery is that you can adjust the voltage from 3.2 to 4.8 volts. Why would you want to do that, you may ask? Put simply, it allows you the ability to soften or intensify the drag you take. Some juices taste better at a higher/lower voltage. Attachments perform better/worse at different voltage levels, etc. When I was first told about variable voltage, I didn't think it would matter in the least for me. But have since found it is ESSENTIAL that I have those options. Even if you don't fully understand why it's happening, it's easy for beginners to just turn the dial until they find their "sweet spot."

I suppose all of you are right, to the response on the withdrawals, maybe it is that I never really wanted to quit or didnt take ecigs as quitting as opposed to just wholesome replacement. They gave me free tank I guess? With the wicks, i am not sure what its called and I siwtched that with the original one today and that seems to be somewhat better. I really hope to make this work though. I guess part of it is also that with e cig youcan do it anytime, with cigarettes I went on smoke breaks and I do miss the warmth. Any suggestions for the liquids with tobacco taste? the store I bought them from had several, but most of them were for cigars, which is not the same taste. I usually smoked about half a pack of LM blue a day.
