I ordered the Kanger Protank2 heads from discount vapers. And put them in my tank and anything over 4.3 volts 7.7 wats burns with every pro tank I out on I usually run 2.5 ohms at 5.0-5.2 volts and its not happening. Just a gross burnt taste after I roasted one head I even used another one it was good for 3 pulls then back to roasting. Is it just the heads?

What wats or volts d you run your 2.5 ohm heads/ Cartos

Did you Verify the Resistance or are you just assuming they are correct?

2.4ohm @ 5.25 volts is 11.48 watts
2.8ohm at 5.25 volts is 9.48 watts

Both are pretty high for a Clearomizer and if wicking is reduced Burn will happen FAST.

What is your Juice Ratio?

I normally run my Kangers at 6.8-7.4 watts depending on e-liquid type

My evic picks the heads up at 2.5-2.6 ohms, my juice is 50/50 pg/vg I use 2.5 ohms all the time and always run them at my 5 v mark and are a dream.

I can't make my own I don't have that gift, I have the gift of talking my way of of situations not fiddling with tiny coils. I appreciate it but I guess I'll just burn through these 20 heads and get some more.

every once in awhile I'll get a funky batch like that. when they taste "burnt" Soak them in Vodka overnight, then rinse well.

just a suggestion. Soak one of the Burnt tasting coils in Grain alcohol or vodka.
Remove the pipe by wiggling it out. Carefully remove the flavor wicks and place one back in. Split the second wick and put 1/2 back in place.Install the wick and try that.

Do you know that these are in fact Kanger replacements? or maybe an off brand?
Even with Kanger there have been reports of Missing Flavor wicks, 3 Flavor wicks, wicks bunched in the opening, etc.
Made by hand means their can be several different reasons for a good design not working properly. most are simple fixes.
Coil should be aligned in the center of the opening - adjust with a tooth pick.:)

he got them from DV... those are usually authentic as far as I know. Although I'm looking at the last 5 packs I got in from them. 4 say KangerTech, and 1 just says ProTank.

who can tell these days?

I am using 4.2V on my 2.2ohm protank II. Never get a burnt taste, until the draw goes away. I use 50/50 juice in it. I have found that the higher the VG ratio, the faster the head gunks up. For 90% VG I use a carto tank. I switch off between the two of these. The carto last longer than the Kanger head(real Kanger heads). It cost me less, too.

My 2.2ohm Kanger heads are usually closer to 2.4.

Kangers recommendations are: 1.7-1.9ohms/3.1-3.3V, 2.1-2.3ohms/3.4-3.7V, 2.4-2.6ohms/3.8-4.1V, and 2.6-3.0ohm/4.2-4.5V.
