Different Sony 30amp batteries???

I heard there are some knock-off Sony 30amp bats going around so im trying to figure out if mine is one of them... Mine seems to get very weak after an hour or twos use...My friend says his doesnt..and we bought our batteries around the same time but from different sources.. They are both vtc4's being vaped on Astro clones with minimal voltage drop.

Heres what mine reads:

SE US18650VTC4
T C4A1XVI22R
SONY 31

I compared my Sony with my friends and his has a "G" on it where as mine has a "T" and also, his doesnt say "Sony 31"

Any difference?

What do the knock-offs look like?

charge the battery full and put a 0.14 ohm load on it, if it doesn't explode in 5 minutes you're good.

Different factories put different markings on batteries, especially if its outsourced. Slightly different labels on batteries is a common thing.

Go to Google and search for your batteries. Compare those photos with your batteries. That's all you need to know.

Hmmmm.. I just think this is a relevant topic considering there's fakes going around.. and its a new battery..

Ive searched the forums...couldnt find any real discussion on the differences. Even some reputable vendors are selling fakes from what Ive read..

Probably more fakes than you would think.
They fake everything these days.

Measure the voltage drop under coil load and report back.
I have some voltage drop data for comparison; 0.5 ohm, 1.2 ohm, etc.
If voltage drop is good then it is very likely your batt is good.

I've heard there are lots of fakes as well, I order mine from the custom flashlight forum website. They are real. One way to tell us by weight, I heard this from an owner of a bnm, that's also the difference between the 1600mah and the 1200mah. The bigger the heavier. It's a difference you can barely tell by holding them but there is a difference so I'd imagine their would be a difference between the real n the fakes. Just my 2 cents.
I have lots of each.

Its going to be difficult since the print is so small and cameras will be out of focus...would be hard to judge...

I did notice the print on my friends battery was a bit cleaner (the barcode and the weird logo). Other then that, the top and bottom looked identical.

I Wonder if sloppy print is common with real vtc4's..

Im curious to know if there was anything about the print (quality or different numbers) on the fakes that was different then the authentics? (Obviously the second string of numbers is going to be unique for every bat)

This is the one I have and it's real. 'Sony 31' and a 'T' at the beginning of the second line are correct. The funky barcode that's actually on the battery is not shown in the pic.

That's exactly what mine looks like. Right down the the black insulation around the positive post.

Do 2014 Sony VCT4 batts have flat bottom or raised bottom?

My 2013 sony 10 amp has raised bottom but I prefer flat. Vendors typically neglect to show bottom.
