if so, I decided i don't like wicks. I have two and get a burnt taste everytime...and my wicks look burnt even though i keep them saturated with fluid.

Think that's the ego to 510 adapter 3x7?
Gosh BethAnn that is a puzzle. It seems like it is totally wedged in there. Here ya go. Gonna spill ur juice but pull off the drip tip, pull the tank off the cart(over the sink) and then all you have is the cart in the battery. Take some pliers to the bugger and give it a good twist near where it's attached.
Mind you, that's what I would do. Battery being worth more to me than the juice or cart should it get damaged.

Edit: Oh wait, does this mean you got it off, but you are looking for alternatives to prevent it happening again? duh!

I don't really like them either, have had no luck w/ them at all.
PB's vid explains the problem w/ the Smoktech style Tanks, is a good watch
I use the mega carto's and I drip sometimes

I do hope you figure it out, tho I am not sure why they would have suggested a DCT for you for on an ego battery to start with, ego's don't have the voltage to properly handle a dual coil cartomizer.

I don't know..i just got it today and it works beautifully on my ego 1100 mah battery? knock on wood :)...and after watching that video at 16:16 the guy talks about my problem :)

Nice, glad it helped. . was funny towards the end of the vid also, lol

You might be able to find some different center o-rings, which I think is the problem, so the carto's will fit tighter.. Does make it a pain though ;)

Jay

OH yes, i had to laugh at that too...That was me earlier when i lost some juice with this thing....LOL!!! I do still like it though, only been vaping 11 days and It's better then those things out there with wicks. Even though i do have a vivi nova coming...maybe my thoughts will change after trying that one. That burnt taste is awful! Vivi nova better not fail me. Thanks again :)

That looks like a ce2. I burnt up my first ce2 as well. After that I gained the habit of rolling it a lot. Which allowed my ce2s to last a bit longer, but, not much. The ce5 has more metal at the bottom as there are two pieces that screw together there for quick dissassembly. Thanks to this the containment area stays cooler which helps in keeping the wicks from burning up. Plus the wick replacements are very cheap compared to a carto. For a chain-vaper, such as myself, price is rather important. I've yet to find any form of carto or wick that lasts me more than a week.

I may go ahead and order it after reading and seeing that it's the deal in the plastic tank. What size ohm should i get for my ego 1100 battery?

Well, the site quotes ...
"NOTE:
Please don't use the 3.0Ω on less than 3.7v PV's unless you're looking for a cooler vape. They work best on 4 - 6 volt devices.

The 1.7Ω cartos may shorten the life of eGo, 510, 901 or other mosfet driven batteries. Low resistance cartomizers should be used with 3.7 volt mods with a switch capable of handling 2.5 or more amps. Protection circuits on some batteries may see these as a short and cause them to shut down."

So compair your device and order what you think is best. I do not own your model of ego, so I can not say from experience what works best. If it were I, I would order one of each progressive resistance and see for myself what is the correct one for me to use. Trial-n-error.

It probably doesn't have the flange, right? if so, just push down on the base, toward the flange and it will aid in twisting. Most likely thou, it just a matter of waiting until the tank 'sets' up on the carto. enough time and heat and the o-rings on the tank will dry up and stabilize to the cartomizer and they will move as one. I have a tank that sets up real well, and I have another that takes forever and always turns. It all has to do with how precise the carto hole is. the J-tank is really nice in this aspect, and from what I hear the Jon Boy tanks are exact as ..... I have been using a tank tool lately and I love doing it with this....it hardly seems like a chore. best $20 i've spent yet; and tank tool and a keyring carto punch...

Hey ya'll...just an update. To get this tank off the battery I take the drip top off and get needle nose pliers to hold the carto while i unscrew the battery...Anyway, this is not going to get much use since i got my Vivi Nova in the mail today...I'm in love with this thing and done searching, finally :)....knock on wood and hoping i won't taste burnt wick!

Just remember to keep turning it. It becomes habit real quick. Like ashing a cigarette was. Also, first time fill a new wick a 2-3 second slow vapor blow helps it draw up without burning it on the first go; also seems to help with the longevity of the wick.
