Diluting emergency - need quickie advice

OK, I need to dilute my Vermont Vapor (Maple) liquid on an emergency basis. It's too thick, I can't get it to wick right, and it turns out I am sensitive to PG, so this is the only liquid I can use that I have on hand right now...

It's pure VG. How much water or vodka do I add to make it the same consistency as PG? Can I use non-distilled water? Or should I just add vodka if I don't have distilled?

Oh, and I know everyone hates McCormick, but that's all I have on hand right now. Can I add a couple of drops of McCormick Imitation Maple to boost the flavor? It's got molasses and vanilla and caramel color and God knows what all else in it... Will I kill myself and/or my atty if it try it?

i'm a noob, i haven't even vaped yet, but i do know for sure from reading around, u should only use water if its distilled...bottle or tap won't do...sorry i can't help u with anything else...

If it is too thick, dilute with distilled water or vodka. If it's got a hard throat hit, use water. if the throat hit is too weak, use vodka.

But, DO NOT USE maple flavoring that has molasses. Molasses is a by product of sugar production, and contains a lot of sugar. Sugar has been well know to wreck atomizers, and is something to be avoided.

But, you're looking to thin it up just a little, not totally water it down. My advice is do it in a small batch, and add a tiny bit of thinning agent in. You'd be surprised just how little you'd need for making it really thinned out.

I used some Vodka, until it looked the right consistency. Well, the result wicked ok, but no taste, no throat hit, and not much vapor. Yuck.

Thanks especially for the tip on molasses and sugar - i'll stay away from that.

I wish I could get this VV stuff to wick right - it tastes really nice, and makes loads of vapor, but it's only good for one hit every half an hour or so...

I even tried the PTB mod - it made no difference... Maybe I should try the straw thing.

I'm with emus, 70% VG, 30% Vodka. I usually use 40% VG, 40% PG, 10% Vodka, and 10% flavoring.

I could have put in too much vodka, I am not sure. There was some vapor, just not as much. The real problem was no throat hit *at all* and absolutely no flavor. VV is not too heavy on flavor to begin with, so diluting without adding flavor is a no-no, I suppose.

I ordered some flavorings on-line, so I guess I'll try adding to my current mess when it comes.

I guess I'm just not vaping until my shipments show up. At least one more day. <sigh> Back to puffing on cancer-sticks...

I have found that VG, while sweet and vapes good does mask the flavor. PG on the other hand does not require as much flavoring. I got 473ml of PG from the local pharmacy. Walked in asked em if they had seen a ecig, and proceded to explain the use and what was used in it. I than asked if they had or could get Propolyne Glycol. Sure no problem, is that what that thing uses. Yep sure does, no sorry none in stock will be here tommarow morning at 10am. Ok see ya tommarow, gave them contact info. Next day it was in the store on the conter with my name on it. Paid 13 bucks, yes I could get it cheaper, but had it the next day. I would have had to pay the same price or more to overnight it.

So check with a pharmacy! Not the CVS or chain ones, check with a mom and pop one if you have one in your area. If not check the chain stores, they can get it or have it. And with PG you dont need the vodka to thin it.
