A cubic cm is a cubic cm. but a cubic cm of VG weighs 1261mg. This bottle is 250ml. It says so on the bottle. So is that 250ml x 72mg ?, yes it is. To me that means that 72% isn't 72%. Not if a ml of VG is 1261mg. So what it should say is 72mg, and not 72%.

How much nicotine is in 1 ml of 72% Propylene Glycol ? Easy answer is 72mg. That's because there are 1000mg in a ml of Propylene Glycol. There is 1261mg per ml of VG. See the difference. The total volume of the product is irrelevant !.

1. No, there are not 1000 mg of PG in 1 ml of PG, but 1040 mg.
2. Concentration for liquids is often means concentration by volume, not by weight. Example - vodka. 40% of alcohol by volume (4 ml of alcohol + 6 ml of water).

I care because nicotine is measured by weight. When nicotine liquid is purchased people are buying for the sole reason that it has nicotine in it.
Look at this :

It says 72%. And i know it actually means 7.2%.

What i'm referring to is that most important ingredient in the bottle is nicotine. But the volume of the nicotine is what is printed on the label. The nicotine content shouldn't be labelled as volume, it should be labelled as mg's per ml.
And again, it's because nicotine is measured in mg's.

Why bother labelling something which is measured in mg's as volume ?.

How many mg's of nicotine are in your e liquid ?. Do you refer to it as % when talking about it ?. No one here on this forum ever refers to their e liquid's nicotine content as % or volume.

I get that every seasoned vaper is used to % and volume being printed on bottles. I just don't understand why producers and vendors do it.

It's stupid !.

That's a valid discussion, but my point merely where that it was off-topic to the OP's thread/question... It was suggested to use scales to mix down the nic, and you brought up the % vs mg/ml debacle...

Btw, I think there's a very small dot, so it does state 7.2% and not 72%. Note, I do understand that this isn't your issue/point here ;)
