Hi all.

I really love my Provari V2 and use it all day, every day....

lately Ive noticed that my batteries arent lasting very long...lets just say i go through 3 18650s in about 10 hours!

Im vaping a micro coil in an igo-L RDA that measures 1.4 ohms at 4.0 volts. I DIY my own juiceso I carry a couple different flavors in 30ml bottles...so I really cant say how much juice im really burning through.

I can honestly tell youthqt I do vape alot...likw continually.

I am using a Nitecore i4 charger, BTW. usually doing 3-4 batts at once.
sometimes my batteries come off at 4.0v and sometimes after reating in a case for 8 hours, the last one has dwindled to 3.7v

any thoughts on why Im draining these batteries so quickly? something I am missing?

thanks,
Geo

I would clean the crap out of the cap threads and contacts, the 510 connecter may need to be lightly scraped to get all the junk off. If your batts aren't charging to a full 4.2 volts, then it's one of two things, the batts are damaged and I would stop using them at all or your charger isn't detecting peak charge as acuratly as it should (fairly common). If the issue is with the charger, try taking the battery of and on, if it goes into charge mode 1 out of say 3 times then chances are that's the issue. Batterys do have a finite lifespan, so it is possible yours have reached their end. Id try everything else first before I called it quits on the batterys.

the 2000 mah AW IMR's have a life cycle of 500 charges according to their spec sheet....

If you've had these batteries for over a year, the batteries may just be at the end of its life.

if you know anyone with a hobby grade charger, they can test the cells and give you actual numbers to see if the batteries are degrading.

sounds like the charger is not doing its job and the batteries are getting older.

i have batteries sit around for a while and they still read full voltage (4.2v) i would start measuring batteries as soon as they come off the charger to make sure it is working correctly, and get some newer batteries. you did not say what brand or type they are.

Ok..I've been able to rule out.the charger...ny batteries came off today at between 4.0-4.2... I was able to vape all day long on one... I just kept going on it after it blinked. Then I dropped me provoke on the tile floor...Damnit. After that the battery stopped blinking. Weird.

I cleaned th. 510 Connector and that seemed to help some. Next to clean the iinside contacts.

The batteries are aw..and are about 2.5 months old..

Thanks for suggestions.

1.4 ohms @ 4.0v is about 11.5 watts. your low resistance is a bit of a drain on the 18650. try building a micro at 2.0 ohms. you can still get 11.5 watts @ 4.8 v. my 18650 usually lasts me an entire day around 10 hrs. if that doesnt work try 2.5 ohms. you should get significantly more batt life from 1.4 to 2.5.

Clean the internal contacts, mine will start getting kind of hinkie when the internal contacts start getting dirty, Ill start getting the blink and I'll unscrew the cap a bit and screw it back in and it will stop. That's usually about the time I get the 99.8% Isopropyl alcohol and qtips out and give it a good cleaning. About every other week, I will turn it up side down, fill it with iso, shake it like a cocktail and empty it out. I vape a 1.5ohm coil at 4.2 volts, I get around 10 hours with an AW and close to twice that with a pd2900. Fresh from Provape their seemed to be some kind of sticky gunk on the internal positive contact, flux maybe? I couldn't get a lot of it off with a qtip, but the iso soak cleaned it right off. My batteries meterd alot better in the device. Also keep in mind the Provari measures your batteries voltage under load, the voltage it gives you will be .1-.2 less then what you will get with a multimeter and no load.
