Dimmer switch for 6v

I know nothing about electrical equipment, but can’t someone come up with a dimmer switch that you could turn up and down the voltage by rotating a little knob.
It would be great to have a PV that you could take anywhere. Turn down the voltage when you’re out so you could use carts, and up when you’re home and can drip.
In my opinion the real sweet spot is somewhere in between 4 & 5 volts.
It would be nice if everyone could decide for themselves.

Might be one in the works - variable voltage. Of course other mods can have different voltages depending on what batteries or combination of batteries are used but as far as 'variable v' goes here's one in the making:
