I want to try dipping. Can't decide between the 401 and the 306.
Anybody try both and have any opinions or recommendations?
Thanks ;)

I do nothing but dipping and I think comparing the 306 to the 401 is kind of like apples and oranges especially for me since I use the 306 with manual and the 401 with automatic exclusively. So until the manual 401 batteries come out (which is very soon) I use them differently.

First, I would say if you already have a 510 you might as well start by just getting a 306 atomizer and using the batteries you have. Beyond that it will come down to personal preference. I feel like they are both solid exposed atomizers. I think I get a little more flavor out of the 401 and a little more vapor and an easier draw out of the 306, but that might have as much to do with the batteries. As far as the batteries, 401 battery life is great for a supermini and close to that of a pen style. The 306 works with the 510 manuals so short battery life but a easy to find manual option.

I hope that helps and feel free to ask if you need any more information. I have used both pretty much exclusively for a long time (by PV standards anyway).

Oh and another important point if you get hooked on exposed atomizers, since the 306 fits 510 adaptors it is the only exposed atty with multiple big battery options.

I've got a 510 coming so I'll start with the 306, see how it works.
It would be nice to take a break from messing with the carts once in awhile.
Who knows I may hate it but at least I won't be out much this way.
Thanks gatsby !!

No Problem. I hope you like it. I don't think I could have kicked the smokes if I hadn't found out about dipping, but it should make a nice break from the hassle of carts anyway. Good Luck.
