the difference is the threading. lol~~
510 = 510 threading. fits 510 threaded batteries etc.
306 = 306 threading. fits 306 threaded batteries etc. LoL.
(assuming resistance remains a constant)

this is totally and emphatically incorrect...
the 306 is the same threading as a 510...
306 batteries are often sold as 510 autos ...

the differences are minimal..
306 batteries are autos...510s are manual....
the 306 atty is an exposed bridge atty (basically if you took the shell off the 510 atty (and some of the mesh that's wrapped around the ceramic pot)
they're the same resistance...

basically because you're closer to the atty the 306 seems a bit warmer..
and because it has a bit less mesh in it the 306 retains flavors much less (ie they don't soak into the atty)

306 is excellent for dripping and dipping but their carts are small and suck...

This may be a dumb question but if say you are using a cartomizer (kr808d) can you pull the wick out of it and then essentially direct drip like on a 510 atomizer?

it's been done....it's a delicate operation to do successfully...and I guess they leak like a seive...
search for the user dogsbody.... he did a video quite a long while ago on how to do it...

both the original 510 and the 306 were made by joye...
the 306 was first and similar in atty design to an m4 and was an auto battery...
also they were intended to look like a cigarette so they were mainly white batteries with red LED

then the 510 came out with a different atty design and a manual battery...
some people wanted auto batteries... so being an oportunistic company they just started shipping the same batteries (the 306 ones since they were autos) as auto 510s just added colors and different LED options

Depending on your liquids thickness you can drip 3-4 drops into your 510 atomizer. Depending on how long of draws/hits you take 4-8 hits you will need to redrip. Long hits-4-5, short hits you can go longer between dripping. The taste and vapor production will let you know when you need to re-drip. At the slightest hint of a harsh hit-re-drip. Keeping the atomizer moist with juice is the key. Make sure to have back up atomizers as you learn to drip.
You can use the cartridge without any filler and it become just a mouthpiece. Most of us use Drip Tips which can be purchased almost anywhere you buy your supplies. You really should search around for good prices and think about which material you may like best. Some drip through the drip tip-some take it off, drip and replace. Most drip tips out there will hold some juice in the tip when dripping through them-just be sure to give 2 quick blows (mouth not touching tip) to force the juice on down.

Holy cow! I admire your thoroughness!
