A bowl of water and detergent and a good rinse after ought to do the trick. I do that anyway with a lot of my rba's once a month to keep them and the drip tips clean and dirt free. A lot depends on the rba and how far apart you are prepared to strip it.
IMO taking o-rings off is unnecessary, but i have done that in the past with particularly gruesome specimens!

reminds me of something that happened to me with the rsst. this person sent it to me with some nasty juice in it and it took me like a month to finally get rid of it. I think it was the plastic tank that held most of it. I soaked & soaked for days. I was a little leery about using any chemicals because I thought it might ruin the tank. I did take a little grain & water together, like a 50/50 mix and let it soak, but it still stunk. in time it went away because my juice finally came through. I believe the juice that came inside the device was this wta tabacco juice, man this stuff was nastly. I would definatly let people know who the sellers were. I have sold items in the classifieds and always took a lot of time to clean the items very meticulously.

Yea.. I've bought two highend rbas off the classys and they smelled of the tobacco that the seller used in them. The DID still had some in it! I had to take it completely apart and soak in hot water with dawn. I ended up having to put in new 0-rings. The GP Spheroid I traded for did come clean but I could tell the seller had been vaping a tobacco juice. I ended up taking it completely apart and soaking it.. I dipped the 0-rings in alcohol and it took the smell out. I can't imagine getting something that had something like pluid in it (yuck) It really put me off buying used rbas.

And i thought Dawn was only good for cleaning birds after oil spills! Lol.

So did the alcohol remove all the nasty stink?

It must have because I'm using it now and all I can taste is peach, not tobacco. I didn't try alcohol on the DID, I just changed the o-rings (they sent some extra) One thing to note, my RSST had a funny taste to it, it was new. I figured it had to be the tank, I dipped the tank in 91% alcohol and washed it with dawn and let it dry and the funny taste wasn't there any more. It's worth a try.

What exactly was in it? If it was pluid, you'll probably never get that out! Before I bought my used DID and GP Spheriod, I made sure that pluid wasn't used in them!
