Just got this mod in today from a reputable vendor and I must say I have to say the opposite of what I've read and vids I've seen of this mod.

Everything works fine for what I need it for and the dual 18650s will allow me to vape at work without bringing extra batteries but the battery door on this thing is so loose I refuse to even consider a pocket carry.

The magnets just aren't strong at all.

I've heard others say how much better the battery door is but man this thing can be easily taken off without any effort. Just picking it causes it to open or slide.

I've emailed support with the card that came with it but has anyone else experienced this with this mod or know someone who has one?

I'm not hardcore enough to warrant some of the 200w mods that are over $100 and the reviews of this device made it seem like a sure thing.

No software glitches or problems with the how it vapes but disappointed it'll probably be just a stay at home mod.

I own an IPV5, got it about 3 weeks ago or so. I'm wondering if you possibly got unlucky and there's something faulty about your magnets? I carry mine in my pocket every single day to work. My cover has absolutely no play when I shake/rattle the mod. It's pretty darn solid. It will slide downwards about half an inch if I press hard enough on it, and catch in a notch and not go any further. I have to purposely do this though, I've never had it slide around at all with normal everyday use.

I've also dropped the mod from about 5 feet directly onto asphalt. I forgot I had it in my lap as I stepped out of my truck. Besides a teeny tiny little scratch in the paint job, it's no worse for wear. I was very worried when it happened, I thought I'd just broken my brand new device. It's proven to be a very solid device up to this point though. I actually prefer it over my cuboid.

I'm sorry about your situation though. It's possible that we could just have very different opinions on what an acceptable battery cover is. But it sounds like something might be wrong with yours. You definitely shouldn't be worrying about it falling off in your pocket.

It has to be the magnets.

I'd post a video if I wasn't so lazy and I don't want to give a reputable name a bad rep or cause any trolls to just react thinking I don't like a certain brand.

The bottom magnets do not grab at all. I can take a fingernail and very light lift up and the whole lid comes off.

If I put it in my front pocket and remove it, the whole door comes off. Back pocket, as long as I'm careful, it will not, but I've just grabbed it to pick it up twice today and the cover came off. It has to be that the two on the bottom of the door have somehow lost their magnetism.

I've checked to see if maybe the batteries are sticking out too far but that's not the case. It's the two bottom magnets that are faulty and I have no idea how to remedy this.

Like I said, I've emailed the support emails that came in the pack and haven't heard back so I may just have a $60 brick that I can only use at home.

possible that the magnets were put in backwards... e.g. both faces of same polarity are facing each other therefore opposing forces instead of attractive forces.... (SN)(NS) or (NS)(SN)
flip the door around and wave the doors magnets near the mod magnets and see if they try to attract... if so then the magnets are in wrong...

Just got mine a few days ago and yeah, the battery door is a concern, but the silicone sleeve not only protects it, but stops the battery door feeling loose. There are so many to choose from on EBay.

Plus...it (for me) doesn't make the mod so slippery. And the way I hold it, my wedding ring kept putting tiny scratches in it.

I much prefer the all aluminum iPV's of the past , those are bulletproof , the new ones starting with the iPV 4 just are not built to my preferences , they are a lot cheaper so you can't complain too much .

The chips are excellent, it's everything else i hate.

I think the IPV4S is the best Device Pioneer has released thus far, at least in the Dual 18650 form factor.

I disagree , the iPV 4 was widely criticized for it's overly plastic feel and once disassembled it was not surprising to see lots of smaller plastic parts than the previous versions.

Each new version that comes out is considerably cheaper than the last , they all have great chipsets but the overall build has gone down big time .

I love the solid aluminum versions though .

The pricing has also gone down with each new version. I've had all of them up to the IPV5. Yes, IPV4 series's Battery Cover was a Hard Grippy Plastic and worked well on a a pretty solid box and the inside was your standard fair with a Plastic Battery Sled. Mine survived 1 or 2 waist high drops without issue. but any atty leakage would easily get past the cover and close to the 18650's.

Before that, the IPV2 was my favorite and I still use it to build and pulse coils. It's beat to .... but still works. But I would take the IPV4S over the IPV3 or IPV5 series everytime.

No Matter, Blink twice and Pioneer will be announcing the IPV5S.

I would take the iPV III and iPV III Li over all the others but i like all aluminum . The price tag on the iPV V is a win win anyway you look at it , for $34.95 thats insane even if the build isn't as good as it could be .

Baffling to me why people still choose iSticks over mods of this caliber lol.
