Glad you got it worked out. You got some excellent advice here that most times is overlooked.
First thing I saw was your coil sitting back near the post, leaving a large gap to the air hole! I found out purely by accident that coil/air flow relation is critical for end performance.
All to ofter someone will offer advice on the perfect Wrap/wick combo but neglect to include orientation. Next you attempt to duplicate and cannot understand why it simply does not work in your setup.
