I really would like to know if anyone knows how to take this top cap off the SB. I really want to replace this button (and some other stuff) but I can't seem to figure this out without feeling like I am going to break something. uploadfromtaptalk1367534014369.jpg

I have an older model. Hope someone can she's some light on the subject. Thanks.

Well, I did in fact figure out a way to get that center pin out with a little pressure from an Allen key. However, the black section is quite a different story.

I actually sent an email to altsmoke to see if they.could shed a little light on the subject, but they just said...."Sure just send it in and Chad will replace the button for you for $10" ....which was in no way what I asked in the email lol.

I am sure I will figure it out eventually. I figure that the black cap isn't tied to anything important anyways, as there aren't too many.things going on under the good anyhow.

Will post a follow up if I ever get it out.

There's a 'How-to' with pics on a German Forum Elektronisches Rauchen Forum

To view though, I think you'll have to register first, and then use Google Translate.

It looks quite straightforward

Hi, can you post the name of the thread? I already registered and all but somehow when I click the link I can't get to the thread, it throws this message: /home/www/inc/languages/english/trashthreads.lang.php does not exist

Thank you John, that was enough for me to understand that the whole switch is put together with some hot glue. My problem was that the threads of my atty connector worn out and I couldn't screw any atty anymore.

So I wanted to replace the connector. A piece of wood with a hole, a vise and a coin were the tools that helped me to do the job... of course I had to desolder the center pin of the atty connector and the positive pin of the battery contact to remove all the switch first.

But at the end it wasn't that difficult to replace, I know that I could have sent it Chad but I don't have a backup mod so...
