I totally agree with what you said above.

yes it's a Li-ion battery in phones/computers etc... while being li-ion in e-cigs as well... they are DIFFERENT TYPES between the phones/computers and the e-cig type. while they are made from the same materials, they are made with different requirements, this is why you cannot just take a battery from a computer and place it in an e-cig. abusing these types of batteries is exactly how all those venting, fires and explosions happen that news likes to play. these are high use/high drain batteries, quick charging etc will destroy them and lead to the side effects mentioned, phone ones are made for a steady constant use and can take quick charging.

I think I'm missing something here. He is not swapping batteries, he is charging using a powerbank. The ego one is a passthrough device that can be vaped from the on-board battery while it's charging, so you're never vaping from the power supply. This is pretty typical.

The charger is built into the ego one. You can use any USB power supply to charge it (wall wart, computer, etc) that can safely sustain a 1 amp draw. Offering the on-board charger more than 1A capability will not change the charge rate that the charger puts out. I have a Vaporshark DNA40 that quick charges a wired in 18650 at around 2A and bought a 2.5A wall wart for it. I now use that power supply for all my devices if it's handy. It's the best one I've got.

Then again I could be missing something. What is your concern in this case?

it's not my rockies I grew up in, but I love it here, despite the almost 5" of snow the other day hehehehe. I'm right on the edge of muskoka really.

after his comments, I'm done with this thread, iggy gets fed today. basically fast charging is lousy for the battery, will kill it faster etc...

for that wall wart... you're relying on the onboard charger being decent and non-defective. if it's not, you're killing the battery. these type are meant for a slower charge, they are high drain unlike cellphones etc. basically next time you charge it that way, check out how hot it gets compared to a normal charging.

nor is it advisable to charge a device too quickly... some usb ports aren't capable beyond a certain range.


charging an e-cig battery incorrectly one.. can kill it, 2 can cause you issues you don't want to contemplate... acid, fire, explosion types...

It's definitely recommended to use a power source that can provide more amps than drawn by the mod. Otherwise the charger may fail due to being pushed too hard.

I'm sorry, but you're providing the wrong information here. Use a wall wart, powerbank or other source that is rated for more than what the mod draws.
