So, I went to Tokyo Disneyland yesterday. And the first few times I wanted a Vape, I went to where all the smokers were.
(Bit of backstory, in Japan, The place where all the smokers are is usually a very poorly ventalated smoking room).
After that I decided to stand outside and a few feet away from the door.
I wasnt being a douche about it. I was quietly vaping away from everyone else, and not blowing a single cloud.
At one point a disney Employee saw my APV, and came up to me. he said If i was smoking, I should go in to the Smoking room.

I told him, Politely of course, That I do not smoke, and he asked if what was in my hand was an electronic cigarette. I said, its a personal vaporizer, some people call them Electronic cigarettes. so he said, To use it, I should go in to the smoking room. I again, Politely told him that going in to a poorly ventalated 4x6 room crammed full of smokers was hazardous to my health. And mentioned that I dont need to blow smoke with my APV, and havent been blowing smoke.
He seemed okay with that, and left.
Got me to thinking though.
going in to these smoking areas is hazardous to my health. I quit smoking because of the health risks. I wont stop vaping. sometimes I need a vape in Public, and I wont go in to smoking rooms. If there is an area outside for smoking, I may stand about 10 feet away if there is another smoker there. But thats about the closest I come. I shouldnt need to put my health at risk, and Honestly, cant stand the smell of cigarettes. I could barely breathe in that room. way less than pleasant. Tobacco and strawberry custard dont mix well.

When will they have vaping rooms.
I am sure there will be haters that say... Ah, You should have gone in to the smoking room. Make me a vaping room and Ill go in there in the blink of an eye. Hell, Vapers are cool. Ill spend the whole day there. but i see being clumped together with the smokers as downright ignorant.

I have thought the exact same thing when I was asked to go into an enclosed smoking area to vape.

Restrooms=vaping rooms...

If you want to spend your time in a restroom with a bunch of women spraying hairspray and screaming children, that is your business, Steve. I'd rather stand outside. :)

I did go into the smoking room at SFO once. Pretty smokey. Second time I was going to go in it, you couldn't even see the other side of the room because of all the smoke in there. After that I just went outside and came back through screening. Now at the airport you have to stand inside the red lines, outside, with the smokers, but at least there is a breeze.

It does suck going into a smoking room. On my flight back from Cuba you had to use a smoking room in the airport. I find the scent of cigarettes unpleasant these days. The problem is that the way I feel about cigarette smoke I'm sure some people feel about my vapor. I always try to be polite about where I vape and in certain instances I suppose I'm stuck with the smokers. Hopefully one day we can have a separate area for people that vape and those who smoke. It is two different things and shouldn't be lumped together.

It is frustrating that vapers have to use the smoking rooms / smoking areas.

On the other hand, I am pretty annoyed by the obnoxious people I've met that vape in areas (such as a mall near me) that are clearly marked as no smoking / no vaping. People like that, who break the rules just because they don't like them, are really doing us all a disservice. If they want to vape, do so respectfully and don't break the rules of an establishment, no matter how much you feel they're dumb. But to cause a scene is making non-vapers believe that we're a bunch of annoying people who can't follow the rules.

I feel much more of a kinship to vapers than I ever did smokers. And I think it's because vapers are so underrepresented.

I went into that smoking box at SFO more than 10 years ago. Although it was nice that we didn't have to go out of the airport and past security to smoke, it was absolutely disgusting. I would vape in an airport bathroom before I went into a chimney like that again.

Yea. Its really bad to have to go in there... I cant breath in there. I Feel I am not a smoker, and have a right to my health.

As for the Vaping in Public... Its why not a single cloud of smoke was blown from me when I was not in there. Whats the point of swithcing to Vaping... if When I go in to the smoking room I breathe in the smoke from 40 cigarettes. and its not good vape when its mingled with burning tobacco.

I would even be okay to stand outside... if thats how it had to be... but right in a cramped little room. they need an area for vapers. Its becoming more popular now...

Last I checked, vaping is a choice. No one is forced to vape with smokers; one has the choice to wait or go somewhere else...

Well smoking is a choice as well . Smokers have specific areas to smoke then give vapers an area too. Vapers are not smokers so why are we to breathe in the dreaded second hand smoke everyone claims is so bad ?

Perhaps if vaping becomes as popular as smoking that will be the case. As it is, however, I can choose where and when to vape. No one is forcing me to vape anywhere...

I completely agree with you Elyptic, When I started vaping I converted quite a few friends from smoking and it seemed I always got the question on if I vaped inside stores or bars Ect. The answer was always no, I don't need a sign to tell me that I shouldn't be vaping in a business that is not related to vaping at all. A good example would be standing at the checkout line the other day in a pet store and watching some guy walk in with his APV and take a large pull right inside the door, It is the people who don't use any common sense who make it difficult for respectful vapers.

I vape discreetly wherever I find my azz to be parked at the moment. The exception being in "tight" public places like restaurants or where there's a bunch of kids. Maybe the first pew in church but if it's empty I'm still tempted.

Something happens to you when you surpass the 55 year mark. You just don't care what other people think or worry about what they'll say to you. :) The worst that can happen is some drone/employee will tell you to stop at which point you simply pat them on the head and send them on their way. You young 'uns probably can't get away with this though. :D
