If you are in Ca or Fl. or plan a trip to Disney..get a free ticket or several, If you sign up a group.
All you have to do is go to Give A Day Get A Disney Day | What Will You Celebrate? | Disney Parks

Pick a charity and sign up. Then you need to get your ticket and go to the park. It's simple. You can cook a meal with other volunteers for the Ronald MacDonald house, work for a homeless mission, read to kids or make blankets for the Linus project. The blankets go to sick, underprivaliged or abused kids.
Today I went with my friends to the V.F.W. hall in Tampa (they let us use a room) and we made blankets for the Linus project. We took lots of pictures to send with the blankets (to prove we really did them) and one lady is sending them all out. She makes the blankets for a living and just brought all the supplies. ( $10,00 for the two blankets They are micro fiber 60 by 50 blankets..all you do is put 2 back to back and cut fringe around the edge..then you tie the fringe from the back blanket to the front blanket. No Sew! It took about 2 hours..gossip included for 30 women to make them..we will be going to disney as a group.
One person can sign up and then list others under them, the first one is group leader!

These were taken as we began..another lady has the finished blankets..I will post a couple ehen she sends them.

Easy peasy! buy two fleece blankets at a dollar store, wal-mart or a craft shop. They should cost between $3.00 to $5.00 each. They will be the 4x5 foot or so size. Get a solid and a print or two complimenting solids.

Clip the binding threads that are around the edges and pull those threads out (it should just unravel.) Place the blankets so that they are back to back with the "right" sides out. They need to be back to back with the 5 foot side matching the othe blankets 5 foot side.

This is the only tricky part. You need to cut a square out in each corner. It needs to be the same length and depth as your strip (fringe) cuts.
You will be cutting both blankets at the same time. Once you tie the blanket, The knots on the two sides that meet will be the new corner.Think of it as clipping away the hospital corner of a bed.

Now cut 1 inch strips (Fringe) all around, at least the length of your scissor blade so you can make one even cut. (if possible) You are cutting both blankets at the same time! They should be at least 3 to 5 inches long so you can tie them.

Omce you cut a side..go back and tie the strips. The strip that is directly over the other blankets strip so that the back and front are joined.

repeat with all 4 sides. See the picture of the yellow blanket above.

There are some pictures in this site. It was the only one that showed the cut out corners. Some people on the different sited said they just put a 3 or 4 inch paper square on the corner as a guide and then made sure the stripd were cut the same depth as the corner (at least for a few strips.)
