I beg to differ, I'm biased but I think vaping looks super cool.
I suspect that he posts these things on FB just to get a rise out of me as he's one of the smartest guys I know. I think that quite a lot of anti-vaping sentiment comes from smokers who don't want to accept the reality of their addiction, that there is a better way.

Yup. That's my exact point.
I'd rather look like a dweeb and see my 3 year old graduate than look cool and be dead before graduation.
My older kids (18 and 20) make fun of my vaping all the time and barely a day goes by that I don't get a picture making fun of vapers texted to me. Of course they are just trying to be funny and are very happy that I finally quit smoking.

Yup, it's the addiction talking and it often isn't very rational. For years I refused to buy 12 packs of lighters and paid twice as much for single lighters, because I didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of them when I quit next week.
A lot of the reason people reject vaping, and how easily they buy into the negative propaganda, can be explained by the workings of the addicted brain. Most of us have been there.
Dont take style advice from anyone that uses the word "dorky".

At almost two years in now...I can tell you it gets even better than that!
Grats on 2 years! Seriously though, I would get pretty bad morning coughs, coughing throughout the day, sore throat and crappy taste in mouth when I wake up, coughing while smoking but finding myself needing more and then coughing more, just a toxic routine...

Get the letterhead or a return envelope of an estate attorney, or print out a DIY Will and leave that lying around. That'll put 'em on their best behavior.

I usually look at them and ask if they're satisfied with their 'smoke' and they say yes, then I reply with 'that's great and I'm satisfied with my vapor, I'm not trying to convert you so I'd appreciate the same respect.'
I mean I can wolf down a greasy burger with bacon and cheese and no one cares what's going in my body but once I'm blowing sweet smelling vape it's of everyone's concern... and they feel their moral duty to inform me that what I'm inhaling is not good for me, while blowing 5000 secondhand chemicals in my direction.
