You put it on a 510 extender to protect the threads and then lock that into the jaws of the drill. Really makes it easy and uniform. By hand is doable but I wouldn't want to. Use wet dry / emery. Start with 200 or 220 and go up until you get the shine you want. I go to a mirror finish by stepping through 220, 320, 400, 600, 1500, 2000. More time spent at low grits equals a lot less time needed at higher grits.

Tighten the chuck...
Then tighten it again... start at a low speed. TRUST ME on this.
I never knew 18 grams could hurt so much or leave such a nice bruise above my eye. :facepalm:
Pro tip: under the chrome is copper, under that is the brass.
