Hi Everyone,

I must say before I start that I absolutely love this forum.

I am quite new to e-cigs, being a smoker 5 years, I realized that I didnt want to be a smoker for life and well... there is no time like the present to quit!

I have a DSE901 and prefilled carts. I also ordered some juice along with a 501 from eastmall the other day.

First off, does anyone know if the DSE901 and 501 carts are compatible? I thought I read somewhere in the forum that they are, but the 501 carts fit very tight into the 901. Is this true?

My second Q is: I watched the vid with the lipton tea bag mod (awesome) but I did not see him put any PG into the cart? Did I miss something? What exactly is the PG used for. If I were to refill some of my prefilled carts after they had expired, they have the material in there already, would I have to add more PG?

ALSO what the heck is a USB passthrough used for? LOL

Thank You in Advance!!!

Welcome to the Forums. The 901 carts fit the 510, but I'm not sure the 510 fit the 901. The 901 carts fit very tightly into the 510, thought they do loosen up with use, so I think the 510 carts would be a little loose in the 901.

The tea bag mod is used to replace the filler that is in carts becasue a lot of people don't like the polyfil stuff that is used by the factory. You then use your nic liquid (juice) to fill the cart yourself. Plain PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glycerin) are used to dilute commercial liquid. People do this when they buy liquid higher in strength than they use. VG is thicker and makes the commercial liquid less runny and adds to vapor production. Diluting this way also gives you more liquid for your money, but you can lose flavor, so having flavor drops that match your favorite liquids is good to bump the flavor up. Some juice suppliers sell juice with extra flavor so that ou can dilute it without losing flavor.

A USB passthrough is used with your atomizer in place of a battery. It draws power from your computer rather than using your battery.

Hope some of this helps.

I'm new too. I don't know about the compatibility thing but I think I know what a USB pass-thru is.
You plug a wire into the USB port of your computer and the other end plugs into your ecig so you have a continuous energy source without using up your batteries. Good for people that spend a lot of time on the computer.

USB Passthrough (PT) can be used anywhere you have a USB port. I have one plugged into my cig lighter in the car (Best Buy), a Radio Shack device (not sure what it's actually called) with USB port plugged into a wall socket in my tv room and of course a USB PT plugged into my computer. I hardly ever use batteries any more.

Yes, with the tea bag filter you can just use juice, but I'd pick up a cheap bottle of VG and add a couple drops when you fill a cart to see how much more vapor you get. You can get a bottle of Wilton's glycerin for about $2 at craft stores in the cake icing section. I love the increased amount of vapor it produces for such a small amount of money :). Before I started mixing my own juice I carried a little dropper bottle of glycerin with me to add when I topped off. It's not necessary, but worth the trip to the craft store to give it a try. You can also get it at the drug store in the skin care section. The brand I see most often is Humco. Just make sure that it has USP on the bottle.
