So I was looking into building my own dna mod with a wood enclosure, but then I remembered i have an old Cuboid where the chipset is still 100% functional (damaged battery connection with the door).

What im wondering is could I possibly dismantle the mod, salvage the chipset (and possibly more) and rebuild my cuboid in a wood (or hybrid wood) enclosure?

I have never seen a Cuboid but,
  • dismantle the mod - Absolutely, but it can be difficult. Check this VIDEO first.
  • salvage the chipset (and possibly more) - Sure but there is more attached to the chipset than you may realize, see the above video for details.
  • rebuild my cuboid in a wood (or hybrid wood) enclosure - Maybe but this really depends on your own personal skill set as a wood worker and a designer. You should probably get Sketchup Make 2017 (not 2018) to help design the solution. Sketchup Make is a Free 3d CAD type program that is easy to learn and use.
