hi I am new at this but have started experimenting so here goes= [Still a bit of an amateur at this mixing lark its the ml and mg that confuses me i would like a simple answer to a reasonably easy question
I never ordered nicotine before
so having now acquired everything i need i have for the first time, and acquired 50mil of nicotine. donning my trusty gloves i have made 6 batches of different flavours and have made 300 ml of juice the thing is i cannot work out the nicotine strength i have made
i have carefully made everything the same nicotine strength in 50 ml batches and have used up all the nicotine so here goes 50 ml @72 mg divided into 300 ml IS THIS STRENGTH OF NIC====

-----------------------------------------------------50 ml of nic
a too high ----------------------------------------80ml flavour
b high ---------------------------------------------170ml pg /v
c medium------------------------------------------- ---------------
-------------------------------------------------------300ml
d low
e insignificant
please just use one of these words only cos i am a bleb when it comes to maths

much appreciated

thanks man00ver i never was any good at maths, what throws me, is ml is the size of liquid and to thick old me, mg is weight of a solid, so this bottle of highly dangerous nicotine contained 50ml of liquid and the empty bottle weighed in at 72mg see how confused i am, mind you it said on the bottle don't eat drink or smoke this product. Nothing about vaping so heres to majic clouds

I guess some go with weight like you. I went by volume based on 100% for total. in a 250ml bottle, size not being really important. But I add 49% with PG, 49% with VG and 2% of the bottle amount is nic. That is my base. If my total flavorings is 16%, then 84% of my juice will be base. Then I add the PG-Based flavors. Percentage-wise that increases my overall PG, but I am a flavor person.

I guess just another way of doing it. I use the Steam Engine app/website to do the calculations. That is helpful. It does weight also.

thanks Frenchfry1942 (hey the year i was born) i stopped smoking last october and decided no nic so i have gone 6 months without nic but boy have i noticed the difference in taste since adding nic it improves the flavour in so many ways for sub ohm vaping to be honest its not really the clouds but the amount of vape you can swallow and it does keep me off the cigs and some flavours are brilliant i smoked for 60 years and at last i am free of the dreaded cigs

My answer above was based on the idea that your nicotine solution was 72mg/mL strength. Is that the concentration you started out with?

If you've been without nicotine for that long, I would highly recommend against using 12mg juice. It just seems a bit silly to me to subject yourself to that much nicotine when you managed to go that long without. 6mg, even 3mg, is plenty for subohm vaping for a lot of people. (Some people do like higher nicotine even for sub-ohm, so it's not unheard of... but I feel comfortable saying that the majority use 6mg or lower.) I went straight from 24mg nicotine to 3mg and SOMETIMES 6 when I switched to subohm, and you've been nic-free for six months. Nicotine should really not change the taste of the juice; if anything I find juice to taste cleaner without nicotine, which can sometimes impart a peppery taste if it is not high quality or very old.

Let me be perfectly clear, though. You smoked for sixty years and it is a HUGE accomplishment to be off them. You do whatever you have to do to keep it that way. I don't *think* 12mg is totally necessary with the background you provided-- and indeed may be very harsh subohming-- but what is necessary and desired is not always the same. Only you can know (or figure out eventually) what you truly need here, and the above is merely my opinion.
