DIY e liquid what should I Buy

I currently am looking at making a couple hundred ml of my own juice at a final nicotine level of 1.5mg and 70% vg to 30% pg. I know most people don't like it this low but I don't really like more nicotine than this. I was wondering if I could use premixed e liquid base with nictone already mixed in from here 3mg Unflavored Nicotine Base

My idea is that I would take the 70/30 with 3mg base and mix it with same volume of 70/30 0mg base and it would half it and be come a 1.5mg base.

Would this be a good route for a newbie, or would you suggest buying all ingredients separate than mixing them all at once.

Any help greatly appreciated !!!

My advise would be to buy every thing separate, Nic base, Vg & PG. This way you can mix what ever you want at any nic level or PG VG ratio. vaping habits tend to change over time, now you mite like 70 30 at 1.5, but this mite change. There are plenty of calculators to help work out the details

This method does not account for flavorings. If you are vaping plain? Party on! Otherwise buy them seperate

All good suggestions so far but I recommend not starting with a couple of hundred ML's. Do a smaller batch like 30 ML to start with keeping good records and using a calculator. The online calculator like EcigVape allows you to save it online. I print and have it available on the PC. Handy and serves as a back up for my hard copies. If you screw up with that volume you might toss the whole batch when once you find the strength and viscosity you want you can make up a bigger batch.

You have not accounted for flavoring which also contains PG. If you add 20% flavoring your under your target strength of 1.5. Select a higher content Nicotine base.

Not all Flavors are PG so check the flavors for what they contain. Some of mine are VG/PG/ VG or PG and VG and Ethyl Alcohol.

I just checked my 65 flavorings, and all but 1 of them contains PG.

Some contain alcohol such as the chineese super concentrates so PG compensation won't be nessessary for those BUT as you mentioned more like 98% of flavors sold are in PG so the likelyhood of needing to compensate is very high. And it goes without Saying if the flavoring contains VG then that has to be compensated as well. Not to mention with high VG vapes any water added needs to be compensated also.
I didn't think I needed to go into detail on this because it's a widely understood concept but for some I guess I must

What strength nicotine would be suggested to start with and where to buy from ? I do like the prices and have used e cig express before. On the other hand I would like to know of any simple 2-3 flavoring recipies that y'all would know of. And I also plan to start with small 10ml batches and then go up from there so I don't waist, is this a good idea?

Starting simple is a great idea. Keep it simple. Nicotine percentage will depend on your gear and your smoking habit. With Cig-A-Likes I started at 1.8% to 2.4%. When I switched to a MOD I cut the 1.2% to .6% and now with DIY I am at 3MG.

ecig xpress may seem like the most convenient place to start since they have flavorings, vg/pg and nic. check out nude nicotine, they have some 120ml bottles in varying nic concentrations that should give you a great kick without the peppery taste that many users have reported on other cheaper nic brands. good luck and keep on keepin on!

Don't worry about trying to figure out mg to % and vice-a-versa with nicotine. Sub ohming anywhere between 1.5mg-3mg at the highest, is the normal nic recommended for it.

In fact, it can be downright dangerous with conversions of mg to %, % to mg if it's not accurate and/or you're given wrong advice or information. The moderators here will and have given warnings to members to STOP doing that!

I don't know who you're asking, but I'll give you my opinion of several places below. If you're wanting to end up with a 30PG/70VG ratio mentioned in your first post, and you're planning on using only 1 or 2 flavorings (that will give you a minimal amount of PG)...I'd recommend ordering your Nic Base in VG. That way, most of your VG content will already be in your Nic Base, and you won't need to buy so much of it. You'll still need to buy some plain PG and some plain VG, but not as much VG.

Because you want to make your final liquid at 1.5mg-3mg nic, and it's your first time even trying DIY...I'd order maybe a smaller 120mL bottle of no more than 12mg Nic Base in VG to start with. When you input that starting Nic at 12mg into the calculator, and then your final Nic content you want in the finished liquid...you'll see that you'll use only a small amount of it to make each 50mL bottle of finished liquid. So that 120mL bottle will make a bunch of finished eliquid at your 1.5-3mg. I did something similar to that with my first DIY liquids. Because I wanted to end up with 6mg Nic in my final liquid...I ordered a 120mL bottle of 24mg Nic Base in VG. I also ordered only 120 mL of PG, and got a 177mL bottle of VG at Walmart for $3.86. I've been able to make quite a few 50mL bottles of finished liquid, and I'm still not even out of my original PG and VG I bought!

Lots of places have Nic Base, PG, and VG. Because I was ordering my flavorings from Wizard Labs...I ordered my 120mL bottle of the Nic Base and my 120mL bottle of PG from them at the same time. Got the 177mL of VG at my local Walmart.

When/if you decide DIY is for you...then you could order in much larger quantities, and some of the places that I've found the best deals then were:

Bulk Apothecary for PG and VG by the gallon. I paid $38.32 for 1 gallon of each, including S/H from Ohio to FL. That was a great deal on that! They also carry it in smaller quantities, too.

Nic Base I ordered from MyFreedomSmokes (a supplier on ECF), and they run sales on it every now and then.
There are other places as well, that many people here use. 1 is mentioned above (EcigExpress), and there are many others.
