I just purchased some 18Mg nicotine 60/40 pg/vg liquid. I have some "Tasty Puff" flavoring. The nic liquid is on the way. My question is.....What do I do with it when it arrives?? I have not yet made my own juice-so I know nothing about it.

When I order pre-made juice, I order anywhere from 12-18 MG nicotine content. I have also used zero MG nicotine......So the end result of MG's of nicotine is rather unimportant - flavor would be of higher importance for me.

I don't know if I am supposed to just add the flavoring to the 60/40 pg/vg and then vape away.....or if there is something else that I will need to add that I have not considered.

Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated.

As a side note - The "Tasty Puff" flavorings that I have are "Crazy Coconut" "Puckered up Pineapple" and "Chronic Hypnotic". I have tried all of them in a pre-mixed "Pina colada" from Northwest Vapors and I like all of the Tasty Puff flavorings.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can offer.

Even though with only one post you can't post new threads in the DIY area, under General E-Liquid there is a DIY E-Liquid subforum. Read the stickies, pick up one of the calculators and/or the scubabatdan spreadsheet.

It sounds like the unflavored nicotine is in the right zone so you won't have to worry about adding any filler plain VG or PG. A spare empty bottle, with a couple of oral syringes to measure out the unflavored liquid and the flavorings, would be good; oral syringes (no needles) are available at many pharmacy desks, else just ask where they are on the shelf.

In your case, just add flavors, shake the result, and test vape. Some eliquids will improve with a few days of steeping -- sitting on the shelf, giving the flavors time to meld a bit. Take notes on each thing you mix -- how much flavoring to how much nicotine eliquid, so that you can replicate your winners in the future.

How much flavoring you'll use varies, and typically you would use different amounts of the different flavorings in a multi-flavor mix. In my case, my flavorings, I often end up at 20%, while other people may prefer closer to 10% total, and for very concentrated flavorings it may only be a couple % total. In that DIY area, use "Search Forum" (to the right just above the list of threads), search for for Tasty Puff, to see which threads specifically reference them.

Welcome, and good luck!

Thank you Mark for your quick and informative reply. I have read those specific areas of the site (Including the one on "Tasty Puff")

Some threads mention adding sweeteners and "Dilutents" (Whatever that is) - So I was unsure if I was neglecting something. Obviously, for my first few attempts, I wanted to make this as easy as possible........Was specifically hoping to just add flavor and go and was just trying to find out if that would be the case with the items that I have on hand.

I am happy to see that there aren't any additional steps (Except for maybe steeping) that I will need to do for now.

Thanks for the suggestion of keeping track of amounts used - That way I can replicate something easily enough when it turns out fantastic!!! :) keeping fingers crossed there - but so far, I have been happy with my little concoctions that have come from adding a few drops here and there to the existing pina colada. I really am pretty easy to please.....So this should be an enjoyable undertaking!!!!!

Thanks again for your help!!!!!

For sweeteners, the typical thing would be a bit of liquid ethyl maltol (you can also get it in the dry form, and make your own liquid by mixing with pure grain alcohol [PGA] or pg, but I'm lazy).

Dilutents is possibly about people who are starting with higher strength nicotine base. If we mix with 60 mg/ml nic base (or even 36 mg/ml), add our flavorings, we often still need to add some plain pg or vg to get the final desired mg/ml. For VG, CVS or Rite Aid "Glycerin USP Skin Protectant" (ingredients only say Glycerin 99.5%, about $5 for a squat, clear, 6 ounce bottle, located near the bandaids) is the right thing. Plain PG we get from DIY supply vendors (the same places that sell unflavored nicotine base) or, in my case, from a local Tractor Supply Store ($23/gallon, including tax).

If you ever move to higher strength nicotine base, please be sure to read the sticky about safe handling. Gloves, possibly eye protection, general good cleaning, and keeping things away from children and pets becomes progressively more important the stronger the liquid.

I just discovered something new to me...UNFLAVORED nicotine juice.

I ordered my first bottle of unflavored nicotine @ 24 mg + a couple flavorings to try out DIY. Before it arrived, I read some veterans' postings saying that they vaped UNFLAVORED. So, when my vapemail arrived, I vaped it plain to see what in the world that would be like. Guess what? It's good that way. :) Really surprised me. I thought they were crazy. Haha.

Never second guess a veteran. LOL

PS. This sure does make DIY simPle & cheap. YAY!!
