IMHO do research research research and by they time you do enough of that you will have your answers without even asking. It can be very dangerous so do lots of research and then do lots more. Do not take this as snide, only as the truth and know I am only looking out for you. I am by no means an expert, only my humble opinion as stated. Good luck in your ventures.

I have DIY'd off and on for the last year. Some of my mixes weren't too bad, but I was never able to attain the complexity of flavors and consistency of a good vendor's juice. Initially I spent more than I anticipated buying various flavors, graduated cylinders, nic, pg, vg, bottles, etc. I still DIY occasionally, but I'm not very enthusiastic about it and I feel, to achieve really good brews, one must practice and there's the rub...it can get as expensive as buying good juices.

DIY saves me about 1/2 the cost of my juice, but I'm in Canada and it's more expensive up here. For you in the US it should be a lot more than 1/2 saved.

There is also the enjoyment of DIY and that I know exactly what is in my juice and how clean my mixing process is. I consider it no more dangerous than vaping in general, as long a s you only use ingredients which you know are safe. Best of luck with it!

I just started diy and it's costly in the beginning but after you have your supplies I think it will pay off. If you decide to do it, start with simple recipes and don't even bother to taste them for at least a week after steeping, I almost threw all mine out and than after a week or two thier good, I mean really good.

I am getting myself set up now to start doing some DIY. DO YOUR HOMEWORK is VERY good advice. Nic is dangerous stuff and you can poison yourself handling it at high enough concentrations.

From the bit of running numbers I have done it looks like the overall cost per ML is going to be roughly half what buying juice would be from the vendors I buy juice from. That is just me your mileage may vary.

I am getting into it more to slowly step down my nic levels in a way I can't buying premade juice. I want off nic completely by fall (mind you I am at 6 mg now).

Read everything you can on it. The DIY forum is a great place to start. THere are even some you tube videos on it. STUDY UP.

WHen you feel that you really honestly know what you are getting into then dive in and play mad chemist. :)

I too Have run the numbers and came to the conclusion I would be saving half the amount i spend on Juice, but I will probally just find another Mod or tank to buy!! Congrats on goiing lower on your Nic levels and thanks for the words of advice

DIY can be absurdly easy and cost a tiny fraction of retail juices. I buy 500ml 50/50PG-VG 2.4% nicotene (24mg) base premade for under $15.00 with zero risk handling nicotene. That lasts at least four months heavy vaping. Just buy your flavoring and experiment small batch tests. My entire hardware consists of a single 3ml pipette to measure out 10ml batches. One costs under $1.00. I stopped buying juices over a year ago.

What does that dilute out to? Like 22-23mg after you add flavoring?

I tried different disposal e-cigarettes before I dove in and bought an actual refillable device. The flavors of the disposables were OK, but not exactly what I liked. So I decided to make my own juice from the beginning. I have since bought other e-liquids and still like my own better. Not that all the ones I made were all that good, but I have come up with a few recipes I really like. The way I look at it is I will keep mixing and keep building recipes that I like until I have a nice variety. I am sure there are some really good premade e-juices out there, I just thought it would be best to customize the flavors to my taste. It seemed to be more difficult to buy a bunch of e-juice to find the ones I liked. It all still tastes better than tobacco. Another benefit of mixing yourself is you can play with PG/VG ratios, nicotine strengths, and flavor strengths to produce the vapor qualities that suit you best.

Read the DIY posts, read the stickies, I find it very, very simple. I mix the 100mg/ml juice from Wizard Labs, 70/30 pg/vg, my cost is about 5.6 cents per ml for 12 mg/ml juice plus the cost of flavorings, I figure I can do 10ml of finished product for under a $1.00 (the bottle is $.29). Take care when diluting the 100 mg juice that is probably the only part you are not used to. DON'T spill it, then you have nothing to worry about. I use a 10ml syringe. Once it is diluted it is no different that handling what you are already handling. Simple, straightforward flavors are just that, trying to duplicate a store-bought tobacco flavor could be very tricky and time consuming.
