For some reason I can't create a post in the DIY eliquid thread.

I made my first mix tonight and it's lacking flavor. How much lorann flavor do you need to add?

Here's my mix.

36% 50 mg PG
30% Plain PG
14% VG
10% Water
10% Lorann's Rasberry Flavoring

It didn't have much flavor so I added another 10% rasberry flavoring.

Still not much flavor.

Any ideas?

Will agree little by little.

IMO Typically 15 to 20% flavor, 10% is for a mild or weak flavor.

You can usually tell if you have enough flavor by smelling the juice. Just start with small amounts of flavoring, shake it up, and then give it a smell. You will eventually be able to tell the strength of the taste as compared to the strength of the smell.

I never put water in my mixes, but I notice a lot of people do. I prefer mine a little thicker.


BTW: you need to get 15 posts before you can start threads outside the new members area, as well as a few other things like posting links.

I also heard that using alcohol or everclear helps with flavor, something about the alcohol spreading the chemicals in the flavoring throughout the mix. I never use water either. Plus, everclear is great for cleaning attys!

What about throat hit? It does't have much I added a few drops of the 50mg non flavored on the atty and it still doesn't hit like the commercial 18mg and 24mg. I know its strong I can tell from the nicotine feeling i'm getting.

That seems like a lot of water to add. You may be watering everything down too much. Instead of water try topping off with PG instead. You're not using a lot of VG so your juice shouldn't be THAT thick. Use PG instead of the water and see if that helps any.
