RY4 is a tobacco flavor, right? I'd go for *at least* a 3 wk steep on ANY tobacco flavor of any kind; maybe even 4-6 wks.

Andria...I was afraid someone would say that. LOL. I guess it's worth the wait to know, so I can quit paying $13 for 15 ml's. On the up side I nailed another fav..Pour House Mad Mix..10% FA candy apple 10 % FA Strawberry 2 drops EM sweatener from DIY Flavor Shack. 44 VG 55 PG. Little thin but first try. YUMM!!

I actually have made one tobacco flavor that was pretty good right after mixing; a virginia with hints of apple cider and cinnamon... unfortunately, that was right around the same time I got totally sick of the virginia tobacco flavor, and went almost entirely over to sweet/fruit/dessert flavors. But if you like Virginia tobacco, I highly recommend Tobacco Express Virginia -- not Golden Virginia, but plain Virginia; the Golden has that "vegetative" sort of taste, which to me tastes a lot like the smell of celery that's been left in the crisper drawer till it liquefies -- yechh!

My ADV for over a year now is my strawberry & cream -- massive gunk monster, but so tasty, I switched to RDAs from tanks and just dry-burn/re-wick every other day or so. :D The flavor is worth it. :thumb: It's 30% flavor, so it's vapable right away; best after about 3 days.

But every other juice I've made that has any tobacco flavoring at all, is vastly improved by a 3-6wk steep. Tobacco is just a really subtle taste, and takes a while to fully develop.

I was wondering about that. Not sure a week is long enough too. Thanks for your input. It does have a blueberry taste, and that amount seems correct. Would I need to bump the bilberry? It seems very strong.
Bumping up the bilberry is optional. Fruits tend to hold their own against other flavors so I would recommend leaving it alone. Try it after 2-3 hours after mixing to see how does and go from there. In general, Tobac's definitely 4-5 weeks natural steep to squeeze the very best flavor out of them. Go points @AndriaD, right on all counts in my book.

Andria...that description of the tobacco cracked me up. No way I'm going near that! I test with an RDA kind of new to that but I'll use it to vape once in a while too. Mostly use RTA's. I'm lazy. LOL. Thank you so much for the advice. I've made a new batch bumping the ry4 to 5% and keeping the Billberry at 1%. It smells so close to what I'm going after!! I will have to learn patience. Thank you again for your advice.

Thanks Brother!! The Billberry is very potent. Leaving that alone.

Well it was only the Golden Virginia with that nasty taste/smell; their plain Virginia is VERY good, a nice mild, smooth flavor. Really hated that I had just learned to mix that flavor, and got almost completely over any tobacco flavors. But mixing sweet flavors is a lot easier; with the high percentages I use, I don't need to worry about the steeping thing -- if I can mix a new batch 2-3 days before running out, all is well.

Wow really? Had no idea, I made my 1st tobacco blend and it was fine after 1week, now I made a RY4 and it's giving me a strange throat feeling, dry and acrid. So I guess I need to let it sit longer?

fa tobaccos will take lots of steeping.......
i generally crockpot for 4-5 hours and then it still takes a week to really meld together...
i hope you get the exact flavor you want.
let us know how it goes....im interested in the bilberry also
I will definitely let you know. I've read some about people using crock pots. I'm assuming for batches of niche bigger qty than 15 or 30 ml's at a time.

And both of my ADVs are tobaccos and I need no steeping. :vapor: YMMV

I think it must depend a lot on the brand, and the particular tobacco flavor. As I mentioned, I've made a really good Virginia using Tobacco Express' Virginia flavor, and it needed no steeping. Anyone who really likes the smooth mildness of Virginia, that's a really good one.

FA's 7 Leaves seems good real fast, while their Glory seems like some generic gas station stuff and I don't think it would ever get good, strange contrast. The tobaccos that seem to really increase in strength with steeping somehow turn out to be the ones really concentrated, such as Inawera: try 1%, dilute to 60%, dilute again in a few days, and again before I can finish it, what with all the diluting ;) ... I have some AM4A that's now down to about .25% . That might actually make sense, a more dilute flavoring has already steeped the PG in the bottle.
