the lowest batch i mix in tobaccos is at least 60ml....
i dont crockpot fruity and rarely creamy recipes.
but even for small batches, it helps.
without crockpotting it would take 3-4 weeks to properly steep fa tobaccos.
hangsen tobaccos dont take as long to steep generally
I read up on the crock pot method. Seems interesting but wondering if the flavor holds over time, in contrast to natural steeping. Like maybe it's good so you know sooner if you made a dud or a winner.

That's exactly the rationale behind high-flavor mixing -- so you can tell right away if it's a good recipe or not. Once you know you have a good one, then you can reduce the flavoring, add some steep time if needed because of less flavoring. But I'm happy with my 30% flavoring; other than the high gunk factor, that is.

that could be true.....maybe crockpot a little taste and have the main batch naturally.
that way you could add to the main
Oh yeah that's a great idea!! I have been trying to figure out how one can test and adjust because to me, after pulling from the batch, I'm adjusting to a different formula and after a few samples I'm adjusting something much different than my original batch, throwing my numbers way off.

Wow 30%? I'm still a nube but isn't that dangerously high? Like with FA I keep reading if one goes too high it's the same as not enough and you won't taste anything. Most things I've read say with FA not to exceed a total is 20% flavor. I know that's just a guideline but what is a good high number. I'm guessing the answer is depends on the flavor used and probably the ratio of PG to VG. LOL. Fruits seem easy to me, but the rich flavor so like custard and IDK butterscotch or caramel are more challenging.

Ya fa i keep around 7-9% tfa i can get as high as 16-18% and your right to much flavor can cause the opposite effect. I know this might sound odd but it works when you get a new flavor put 3-4 drops in an oz of water and taste it. No joke its the eaiest way to get a range of strength and flavor profile.

mixing is not an exact science....
i used to just shake and vape excluseivly....so higher % of flavor didnt matter as much.
now, since ive discovered tobaccos, ive really learned about steeping
and also that you really dont need to put in high % of flavor.
in fact, im finding that i like the lower %'s so much better.
but like i say, whatever works and is enjoyable.
some people like regular mt dew, and some like diet dew

You really think 30% flavoring is as dangerous as cigarettes? I smoked those for 39 yrs.

No no that's not what I meant at all. I smoked for 43 years. I meant too much flavor would lose taste. And I don't think this is nearly as bad as smoking by a bazillion miles. This saved me in a way that I am sure you and anyone in this forum understands. vape ON!!

I'm with you and I suspect a lot of vendors flavored are so good because the may be using diacetyl?? Some are so dang sweet I don't know how they do that. Sweetener maybe. I've tried that but it never seems to last. So I'm thinking I need to adjust my tastebuds.

I don't really get that "losing taste" thing. The fact is that until I started making that 30% flavoring juice, I never really tasted ejuice at all; it was just a nice smell. Now I can actually taste it.

I asked in other forums about this and they agreed about the water test.
I generally put 5 mls of vg into a test tube so drops work out as percentages.
Then I can also make note for the recipes at the same time.
..just my method of doing the same thing.
